How badly do you want an iPad 2?

What gets me about iPad hater is that they don't understand that it is not supposed to be a standalone device like a laptop is. Complaining about things like no usb and no sd slot is like complaining that your civic doesn't have a truck bed. Well of course it doesn't have a truck bed its not a truck. The same with the iPad. It's not a laptop. Its a media consumption device. It is used to write small papers, play games, carry images, view mail and the internet in a comfortable viewing environment. It's not meant to hook up to an external monitor or to edit raw photos or even be used stationary. Eveyone is trying to dock the iPad and add keyboards and try to turn it into a laptop. It isn't a laptop if you want a laptop buy a laptop.

Soooo what you're saying is that it does less than a laptop, so we shouldn't compare it to a laptop... Well, it's a pretty overpriced less-than-a-laptop then.

No all of these things have their niche. The fact is that the iPad is a great device. I have seen people run them as primary navigation units in planes. I have seen people use them as tools to educated disabled children. I have seen people install then in suv's as a cd deck. I could go on for days on what people use the iPad for. What the iPad isn't is a laptop. Why take a handheld device and chain it to a desk? If you want to do that then a laptop is what you want. A iPad is like the swiss army knife of devices. It can do millions of things but thats not the say that it can do all things.

Well the iPads start at 499 so you don't have to pay 800. you too seem to just hate apple for no reason. you say you don't care how the device can help you that it still sucks. Doesn't that define why you buy products? To see how it can positively effect your life? If you hate the iPad that not a problem. There are people that hate it. To each their own.

i HATED....ABHORED the damn things when they came out. when the parents got their first one, i was like "aww cool toy for the 55+ year old parents to feel tech savvy" but really i now realize i want to trade them my netbook for the ipad1
