I have a 97 honda civic ex 1.6 wont turn over, did start befor i towed it to my house. owner befor kept switching out radios an melted main wires under dash to both fues boxes an to the computer, replaced wires now wont turn over keeps getting lock sound when trying to start. took starter an battery to autozone an battery was low an starter was bad, then went to orilleys an they said starter was fine. but the grounded the starter near the end that touched the motor so i went back to auto zone an tested it again it didnt work but had them testit the same way an it worked fine. well get home an now still locking noise. um fan comes on but no power anywhere else. no windows no sunroof power but u can hear fuel pump... is my motor locked up from trying to start it??????.. any body can help???????

No your motor is not locked up from the previous issue. It mainly sounds like from what your speaking of your having an electrical issue. Check all your wires and such and make sure there is no melted or ruined lines. Your motor is more than likely not messed up from the electrical issue. To me it sounds like your starter is the issue at hand, I would not go to Autozone due to they are HORRIBLE with being even close to good for auto questions. You were told first your starter was bad and then next guys stated it wasn't, sounds like to me a starter thats bad period.

I'm an Oreilleys fan. They carry better parts like ngk, and autozone doesn't. Oreilleys is much cheaper too. Read through my cold start issue post and see if you're having any of those symptoms. It hasn't gotten cold enough again for me to have an issue, but I may have had bad spark plugs.
