b18b1 turbo?

Hi y'all,

I'm new to the honda/acura world, i own a 94 honda hatchback w/ a b18b1 engine, it's pretty stock, besides the short ram added.

I want to turbocharge it in order to sort out 500whp, i have a pretty good decent budget, so the money isn't much of a problem, I believe 10G's is a reasonable amount of money. Although, I don't know what to modify, lol, have no clue where to start...

I'd appreciate if someone could help me out so that i can have the most precise information in order to make this little baby an outragging killer monster!

There's some work I can do on my own, for the rest, I guess I'll to see a specialized tuner shop for the little details that i might not have the acknowledge.

I'm not in a hurry to make this project come true, I can wait...

Thanks
momo

Right now i'm on stock internals on a b18b1 with a Garrett 50 trim t3/t4 turbo that's on 6lbs. It runs real strong and hard. Idk the HP it's making right now, but i'd guess right around 180-200.

for 500whp your going to want to get a set of forged pistons and rods, that would really be pushing stock parts.

the motor needs to be sleeved no doubt. you'll need everything from the ground up. it's a long list. with your budget personally i'd be looking at building a k24. you'll make 500whp easier and a s**t ton more torque

That's the point Billy, I need the list of all the components, i know it may be a headache but if you could give it out to me, it'd be sweet! I'm aware about the k24 engine and all the talk about but nevermind, allthough, I appreciate the advice =)

Yes, for sure the motor needs to be sleeved, but what about the block, can i leave it stock or is it required to have a forged one?

Thanks again,
momo

B18B was not a vtec engine so it doesnt have the oil supply system that the B18C has. Id ditch the B and find a C. that will guarantee a little more reliability right off the bat. Then you'll want forged low compression internals with turbo pistons and H or I beam rods, race bearings, high strength bolts, balance the crank and maybe knife edge it (or just buy a race ready crank), sleeve the block with whatever bore you want to match the pistons to, heavy duty headgasket, high strength studs, performance water pump, steel oversize oil pan and upgrade oil pickup (if you don't go with dry sump system). and that's just to start you off on the block...

then build the head, tranny, turbo intake and exhaust system, fuel and spark delivery systems including timing and electronics

Whoa, that's a complete list of things I need to know, hehe, damn... you know you're stuff, what are you man, some sort honda maestro, lol??

Alright, so if I ditch the B for a C than it becomes a LS-VTEC?? Am i mistaken?

How about if I come visit you and do some work on my motor? I mean it's hard nowadays finding trustworthy mechanics, they all go for the big bucks with less work done... =/

Sorry, don't mean to offend anybody here, but it's a fact, you hear some much scams and people getting doubled-crossed...

Anyways, if this seems good to you, PM me!=)

no the B18B1 block comes from the DOHC non-VTEC integra LS, which when combined with a VTEC B series engine head creates an LS/VTEC. The B18C1 block comes from the DOHC VTEC integra GSR engine which is built for more power and higher rpms thus making it a better platform to start off a project.

And no, I don't have time to work on my own car much less somebody elses
