Help-91 civic engine size

[QUASI-MOTO]

Last fall I picked up a 91 Civic with less than 35K actual miles on it. I recently found out that it came with two size engines that year; a 1.5L and a1.6L. How can I find out which one I have? I have not been able to locate the engine number. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Look to the right of the block it should say something like d16y8 or watever engine you have

alright, front of the engine, by the header, look to the left, and down. there will be a flat portion of metal, will probably have grease and dirt on it. wipe it off, there will be a code there. it'll tell you which engine you have.

Hey if it helps when you find the code there very simple to read... you will have a D series code for the 4th generation Hondas where Barret had pointed out... so the begining will say either D15B2 this is a 1.5L engine or D16A6 this is a 1.6L engine these are the only two engine Honda came stock with that year. If you have a DX or a LX you have the D15 engine and if you have EX or SI you have the D16 engine assuming the car stock. Hope this helps out.
