that's the impression i got after reading about the bigger motor with a lower redline. The sporty end of honda's have always been screamers whether its powerful or not. The thrill is slowly going away...

Agreed. Seems like Honda is slowly moving away from what made them so great.

My friend was telling me about this. That 0-60 and 1/4 for the EM1 cant be right lol. I did 16.8 in my EX with a severely worn clutch.

But anyways... Honda really has changed. But i guess you could say that goes with most car manufacturers. Car innovations are always changing and advancing. Electric power steering, electric throttle, ABS, all that stupid fancy jazz...

Maybe its just me but i love the way my car feels. I can feel every bump in the road, my tires are noisy but grip, it handles well and steering response is on the dot... Its no sports car by any means but thats what i want in a car. I want to feel everything. I want to know its just me and the car. No fancy gizmos helping.

Plus the EM1 looks THE best out of every Civic IMHO.

New 2012's are ugly as hell.

I like the 8th gen so much more than the 9th. Im torn between the 8th and 6th though

I'm the same way to be honest. I love a car where there's nothing "interfering" with your driving experience. My 2 best friends drive a 2005 GMC Jimmy and a 2008 Ford Fusion. I let them drive my all stock 97 Ej6 and the only thing they say is how fun it is to drive. It's not a fast car or sporty by any means but there's just something about driving it that is awesome. =)

My personal favorite "look" of the civic is the 6th gen SI. Then the 5th gen hatch.

When I saw the title "2000 vs. 2012" I thought this was going to be a comparision between the ridiculous claims of the Y2K bug, and the world ending in 2012. Thanks for the disappointment
