I need wheels and lowering springs

I'm about to purchase a 1998 Civic Hatch. I want to lower it and put at least some 17's on it. This will be my daily driver. Anyone know where some wheels are for sale locally that I could pick up. Suggestions on lowering springs? Not so much worried about comfort. I want the look. Not trying to spend a bunch of money on springs either. Thanks in advance

Exactly what I was aiming for. I purchased a set for my '90 Miata and really didnt notice any difference in the ride. Rough is rough. My old '87 Civic Si had torsion so no springs there.

My old civic

not bad, those 17's? The car in my avatar is my current car and its riding on spring sleeves and 17's just to give you an idea. The front bounces a bit but not to bad. normally its just at low speeds on rough pavement

As opposed to full coil overs, they replace the stock springs and make the ride hight adjustable

its not much more if any at all. its slightly better than just lowering springs cause you have a little bit of customization whereas just the springs your stuck at one hight. For instance on amazon you can get a set of springs and sleeves for 70 bucks albeit they prolly are not the best quality but thats just an example. you could prolly find a better quality spring set for about 100 bucks. Also just google "lowering sleeve kit" and go to google shopping you'll see what i mean

yea its pretty much the same... just put the sleeve on before you put the spring on lol. Haven't heard of them before but they look like a legit company. Another thing you can do if you wanna find a cheap but good set of springs is go on amazon and search it and find the set with the best reviews (just an idea)

What is your buget? How low do you want to go? What kind of ride quality do you want(smooth, aggressive)? Will you be using OE shocks?

Sorry but this is terrible advice. Suspension is something you really shouldn't cheap out on. For safety reasons and also for money. You'll spend more money replaceing parts down the road than if you spent the extra money on a good quality suspension setup. I've seen it a million times over..

This is just ONE example of why you should NOT buy stupid cheap eBay suspension parts.

DO NOT BUY THESE. These are probably worse than the Tenzo-R that split like a twig in the picture above..

You haven't heard of them before, just like no one else has, because they are GENERIC. It even says so in the website "Brand: Generic". lol

There's no guarantee that these will even fit, let alone last, or provide a decent ride on any shock...

I hear ya completely. Should I just order some eibach and be done. I've lowered every car I've owned in the last 7 years. That's just me

Eibach is a solid company. The Pro-Kit spring rate, particularly the front, is really pushing the limits of the OE shocks. It'd be a good idea to upgrade the shocks to something like the Eibach Sports or Koni STR.T shocks.

If you want a decent drop and still use OE shocks, Tein S.Techs work best.
