Saw that movie Fright Night. Was a little boring in the beginning, but that vampire just gets right to it lol. Good overall, I'd recommend it.

Rather than having a car that SOUNDS like a cammed LS1 Camaro......why not buy an LS1 Camaro and cam it? LS1 engines are f*cking amazing.

............................... Camaro LS1.........EM1
Horsepower..........325hp....................160hp
0-60.......................5.2sec...................8.2sec
1/4.........................13.5sec.................16.1sec
60-0.......................120ft......................129ft
Slalom.....................63mph...................66mph

The LS1 also get's pretty decent gas mileage, let alone for the power that it makes. The Camaro, and the LS platform have as much support and interchangeable parts, if not more, as the EM1. It's also a reliable engine. Now, can you give me one good reason why an LS1 Camaro isn't a good car?

Oh God...here we go. Victor thinks Camaros are amazing. Your bday present is going to be a purple IROC babe.

I volunteered to work for just a bit today, then tanned, scrubbed the house(literally on hands/knees scrubbing the floors/floor boards/cabinets), and got groceries. Oh and I'm also watching my first football game in years.

Woman WTF do you mean THINKS? I just listed stock for stock the stats between an EM1 and an LS1 Camaro, how can you deny stats? It's not debatable. The many advantages that the LS1 Camaro has over the EM1 are huge, and the ONE advantage the EM1 can easily be made up by driver skill/error. The Camaro is also RWD, which means better traction on take-off. The LS1 also has the ability to make MUCH more power, cheaper.

Can anyone here name a serious advantage that an EM1 has over an LS1 Camaro?

Cornering.
Wow, I'm glad that you took the time and effort to actually pick something valid, find, and provide the proof:roll:

Anyway.....

Slalom.....................63mph...................66mph
Looks pretty similar to me. The Camaro is lower to the ground in stock formation, and it's wider. These traits help offset the weight. Wanna try again?

i don't think he ment it was intentionally trying make his car sound like another car, seems like it only sounds like that because the engine might be running bad. idk.

Weight. I won't deny the LS1 is an amazing motor. There's a reason why so many people swap it into so many different types of cars. But do you notice how even though the Camaro makes almost double the power of the EM1 and is nearly half as fast as the EM1, the 60-0 and Slalom are barely different? The newest 5th gen camaro's weigh almost 1100 pounds heavier than an EM1. The 4th gen's are probably 8-900. The camaro is a boat compared to the EM1. But I don't deny the fact that when it comes to making serious power, the Civic has a hard time hooking being that it is light and FWD. So I guess you could say the Camaro could eventually win with weight. But again, RWD helps a lot and there are 8 second Civic's.

And let's be honest... How many track cars (not 1/4, actual track) do you see that are Camaro's? Most Camaro's you see are built for the 1/4 mile. They're heavy and RWD which makes for a phenomenal launch and the motor can crank out some serious power. But I personally have never seen a Camaro on an actual track but then again, I don't hang out in a Camaro community so I don't actually know. And the track is where I get my thrills. Anyone can pound the gas and go fast in a straight line. Especially when you start to make serious power with V8's and you switch to an automatic.

Now... I absolutely love the sound of a big V8 with a cam and exhaust. One of my friends recently bought a newer cam'd GTO and put on straight pipe exhaust on it. It sounds SICK. Another guy I know has a C5 Z06 with a cam, long tube headers, loud exhaust, and is spraying, I think a 200 shot. I'm not sure what else is done to it. That thing f***ing SCREAMS and is SO deafening.

But at the end of the day, you drive a Camaro dude. You might as well put some small tire up front, big ones out back and get "Def Leopard World Tour 1983" etched in the rear window glass. Grow a mullet and drive a Camaro

Oh I know he didn't INTEND to make it sound like a Camaro. I was just saying that instead of having a car that sounds like a cammed LS1, why not drive a cammed LS1 ;)

And at the end of the day, you drive an underpowered Civic but think it's the sh*t. You might as well turn hispanic, get a fart can, put stickers and a body kit on your car, and drive around revving under bridges and shouting "Vtaaaaaaaaaaaak" out the window. Yea, there's SOME rednecks that drive Camaro's, but there are plenty more nice ones out there. Grow up

And John. I agree, the Camaro weighs more. My stats were from a 4th gen because the 4th gen Camaro was the model that came with the LS1. Yes, it does weigh significantly more. My point was that even with the added weight, it still brakes slightly better, and handles well enough that it could likely keep up with the EM1 in the turns with the right driver. There are people that will track their Camaro/Firebird.....not as many people as in the Honda community, but it does happen. I don't think so much autox, but definitely on a bigger track. I'm not trying to sit here and say that the Camaro is better in every way, there are some trade offs. I'm just trying to get people to open their eyes that the Camaro isn't as bad of an all around performing car as they think, it can even hold up in handling to their beloved Civic's....yet they're all bashing it.

But John, thank you for having a REASONABLE discussion about it :thumbs up:

I could, but then I would be like 99% of the people who live in this city. I'm not Latino enough for that fag s**t, plus I'm not 18.

If I drive 20 minutes north of Tampa it's nothing but hillbilly's driving lifted Ford f-250's on some 65" swamper s**t with broken down Camaro's in their front lawn and a $1000 Mustang in their garage with a $50,000 engine in it. I just call it how I see it.

You get further into Tampa and it's a bunch of Cubans driving riced out F-150's and Civics. Not to mention the mid 80's Buick LeSabre's with 30 inch rims on them.

The car scene in Florida is disturbing to say the say the least.

I have my car for the gas mileage, my Jeep for less than 13 mpg and I couldn't afford it anymore.
