No doubt . I like all sorts of cars and I'm starting to get tired of all this s*** with "my car > all cars", "rice vs. clean", "domestic vs. import". Appreciate a car for what it is... I try to appreciate a car if work has been put into it.And John. I agree, the Camaro weighs more. My stats were from a 4th gen because the 4th gen Camaro was the model that came with the LS1. Yes, it does weigh significantly more. My point was that even with the added weight, it still brakes slightly better, and handles well enough that it could likely keep up with the EM1 in the turns with the right driver. There are people that will track their Camaro/Firebird.....not as many people as in the Honda community, but it does happen. I don't think so much autox, but definitely on a bigger track. I'm not trying to sit here and say that the Camaro is better in every way, there are some trade offs. I'm just trying to get people to open their eyes that the Camaro isn't as bad of an all around performing car as they think, it can even hold up in handling to their beloved Civic's....yet they're all bashing it.
But John, thank you for having a REASONABLE discussion about it :
On the other hand... I was at a car show last month and there was this new Eclipse... The rear tail light tint was fading and it looked HORRIBLE. It had blue WIRE LOOM covering wires... Zip ties everywhere... However it was turbo so it probably made decent power. But the manifold was arc welded (I think that's what my friend said). omg it looked HORRIBLE and it looked like a 4 year old made it. I cannot appreciate that. I cannot appreciate someone who half asses their car and doesn't take care of it.
