And John. I agree, the Camaro weighs more. My stats were from a 4th gen because the 4th gen Camaro was the model that came with the LS1. Yes, it does weigh significantly more. My point was that even with the added weight, it still brakes slightly better, and handles well enough that it could likely keep up with the EM1 in the turns with the right driver. There are people that will track their Camaro/Firebird.....not as many people as in the Honda community, but it does happen. I don't think so much autox, but definitely on a bigger track. I'm not trying to sit here and say that the Camaro is better in every way, there are some trade offs. I'm just trying to get people to open their eyes that the Camaro isn't as bad of an all around performing car as they think, it can even hold up in handling to their beloved Civic's....yet they're all bashing it.

But John, thank you for having a REASONABLE discussion about it :thumbs up:
No doubt . I like all sorts of cars and I'm starting to get tired of all this s*** with "my car > all cars", "rice vs. clean", "domestic vs. import". Appreciate a car for what it is... I try to appreciate a car if work has been put into it.

On the other hand... I was at a car show last month and there was this new Eclipse... The rear tail light tint was fading and it looked HORRIBLE. It had blue WIRE LOOM covering wires... Zip ties everywhere... However it was turbo so it probably made decent power. But the manifold was arc welded (I think that's what my friend said). omg it looked HORRIBLE and it looked like a 4 year old made it. I cannot appreciate that. I cannot appreciate someone who half asses their car and doesn't take care of it.

other then they are both cars, civic and camaro is none comparable to me.

Camaro Mustang, comparable
Camaro Corvette, comparable
Camaro any other rwd car with a big engine, comparable.

But for fun, i would have Tsuchiya drive my Em1 if it had to be raced against a Camaro

I totally agree with you John. A car with work done should be appreciated even if it's not my taste. Unless its half ass'd then no way.

On the Camaro/Civic topic, the only thing I have to interject is perhaps fuel efficiency and/or safety rating? Useless points I know but still felt like I'd throw those out there. The Camaro seems pretty evenly matched or better then the EM1 on every other aspect.

Learning how to weld today (hopefully) and fabbing my new side trans mount for the del sol. then hopefully getting it running by the end of the night.

Worked. Then made an appointment with a "travel agent" to potentially book a 12 week vacation.

School, then ate dinner at my grandmas. Corn fresh from a field, and home-made chicken fingers ftw.

That depends. I'm not sure about safety, but I would venture to say that the Camaro is not as safe as the Civic. As far as fuel efficiency goes, that really depends on the engine. Most Camaro's don't get great gas mileage. But the LS1, that we are debating, has the potential to get about 26mpg. Not as good as a Civic, but CERTAINLY good enough for a DD, especially for the power it makes.....in my opinion at least.

I couldn't agree more. I'm not trying to sit here and convince people that an LS1 Camaro is better than a Civic in every form. I'm just trying to prove that there ARE benefits to each car. If I had the choice between the two, I would have an LS1 Camaro, without a doubt. That's not to say that it's a better car, that just means that I like it better. And for good reason too, it's certainly a great performing car in different categories. Just trying to show people that every single Camaro isn't rusted out, driven by a hillbilly blasting Free Bird (Although that's one classic, awesome song :D).

Worked and did some more moving. Unpacking the boxes I moved and getting ready for my first masters class tomorrow. What is there to get ready when you didn't get the required materials? lol
