Ok so I've searched this forum and some others but can't really find what I'm looking for and that is... Multiple people's reviews on coil overs. Yes I read @ek forever guy's thread but thats just one persons thoughts (ok two if you count his brother)... Here's the deal, I'm looking to spend around $750ish (little bit more or less idc) and from what I can tell the favorite set up in that range is the "function and form type 1's and the progress cs II's" I just want to see ya'lls opinion on those two set ups or if there is something compareable to them I'd like to see what you think about that too.

Thanks ya'll

Those 2 are probably the most popular for that price. You could probably find used GC/Koni's for that much but they tend to be a little more, even used, at least from my experience.

I would personally get the F&F Type I's because the spring rates for them are almost more than double that of the Progress CS-II's. If you want a comfortable ride and something a tiny bit stiffer, get the CS-II's. But if you want something more aggressive and higher performing, I'd say get the Type I's.

I meant to add that I might do some auto x, and that I do want a somewhat aggressive set up

If AutoX is in the picture, there is NOTHING else better than Koni/GC. Well, other than Moton, AST, etc.... but that's not in the picture lol.

If you look hard enough, I'm sure you can find a Koni/GC setup for around $800. Wait and save up another $100 or so for this setup, it'll be well worth it.

F&F doesn't even compare when it comes to AutoX. Literally, no one speaks of that company at events yet Koni/GC is widely used with happy drivers.

Progress is a good middle ground setup. Great for street and still good for the Novice/non-competitive AutoXer.

Tein Street Basis. ~$750, I have them, and I personally love them! Those or Progress Tech CS-II's, which I wanted (heard they're very good for Auto x too), but every damn place has them on backorder..

Its just barely in the picture... I know a guy who helps run some autox meets here in SAtown so what I'm kinda looking for is a set up that if I was just hanging out and decided to do one run here and there I'd be ok but other than that not looking for much else other than just a tight feeling suspension

If this is the case, Progress CS-2 is your best bet. Cheaper than F&F, more reliable, better spring rates, more comfy for street driving, warranty, proven company that's been around for years, great entry level coilover for anyone looking to try AutoX/Road Racing, etc, etc...

I can also personally attest to the quality of Progress CS-II. Put 10,000 miles on them so far and 6 races without a hitch.

Even still, I wish I'd spent the extra $200 and gotten koni/GC.

I'd buy them now and sell my old ones if I wasn't more determined to get my swap done this winter. So i'm saving up for that.

If I had it to do over again I'd get Koni/GC or AMR. AMR with 550F/450R rates will probably be my suspension setup for next years autocross season.

I will never recommend anything to anyone that doesn't have a lifetime warranty. That alone speaks volumes for the quality of the product. I make an exception for Progress since they have outstanding customer service and if you do have a problem outside the warranty they offer replacement shocks for $60 and you can even get alternate spring rates for $90.

Fantastic company.

Thanks guys for the help and from the look of it I'll be ordering the progress cs II's in the near future. In the mean time imma have to go to the salvage yard and pick up some front shocks cause I just confirmed that they are blown :( they will be just to tide me over for awhile
