** First Car, New to CC **

Hello, I recently got my first car. A 97 Honda Civic EX.


I don't know a whole lot about cars, But I'm learning. I've grew up around Honda's. I've been "lurking" on CC for awhile now, and decided to join. I'm not looking for any drama, or insults. Hoping to meet others on here so I can learn more about Honda's I don't have a job, So this is gonna be slow.

Enough about me.. Here's my car...

Can someone tell me how to restore the right headlight? the left headlight is new, and the colors are off which aggravates me..

I want to get it painted. A lot of people tell me to get it painted the color it already is. I want to replace the rear bumper, and get a new exhaust system. Lower it, and replace the rear headlights. And get the windows tinted darker. And recover the sun visors and moon roof top. and new wheels of course..


The guy I bought this car from, had recently replaced the engine.... Which has about 11,000 miles on it. Excited to see what I can do with this car.

I'd go ahead and wet sand the headlight and then buff it. You can actually buy a kit from your local autoparts store lol

Aside from the back bumper and the clear coat coming off the door; the paint doesn't look too bad. If I were you I would give it a full detail. Don't forget about the inside and the bay too!

Definitely! Thank you. Is there any certain brand of degreaser I should use or any would work for the bay?

we have the same car..i would reccomend gettin the oem black housing headlights they look cool

Use purple power or simple green to clean the bay, also can use simple green on the carpets to get them clean. Nice start so far & just find a local company to redo the headliner & moon roof, just get new visors, I recovered mine but didn't stay too well so I'm looking for some myself. GLWB!

You can do the black housings yourself with a screwdriver, an SOS pad and an oven. Much cheaped and looks great if you take your time.
