I have a forest green 98 civic lx 5 sp that ive had for about a year, and the cars in mint condition right now... well I never really wanted to do anything to it but recently my transmission has been making noises that sound RREEAAALLLYY bad since i used to pick up donation change from mc donalds all over texas, so i think an extra 2k lbs of change would mess u p the trans over time lol but its still drivable, so I told my self.... well you dont have money to get another d16 motor in your pocket... so since my aunt is the president of a credit union, ive always been able to get loans really easy (at 24 yrs old) so i said hmm i wonder if i can get a loan to get a different motor... well i ended up getting a $2000 loan. After hearing the good news i was like PFFT YEA RIGHT with gettin a d16... i ended up getting a jdm b20b with a gsr head... the motors still in route to my house so thats why i dont have build pictures at the moment but yea ive already gotten the swap stuff situated... just got a new steering wheel with quick release, skunk 2 short shifter, skunk2 upper and lower control arms, some adjustable lowering springs that i picked up off a friend and some jdm "civic ferio vi-rs" emblems and decals... thats all i have so far. I am looking for some 15" rims and tires right now so it will sit nice. my plan is to not ever ever put a body kit on it or some HUGE ass spoiler, but possibly the ferio spoiler which isnt to bad.. i want get some jdm parts from a ferio n put them on mine, my hp goal that i want to be at is around 400 as a daily driver...

let me know of what you guys think on what I should do and what i should not do...

I will post pictures of it real soon

That's so far from realistic it's funny. With the B20 VTEC setup you're probably going to have about 150hp to start if you're lucky. Think about where that other 250 hp is going to have to come from and then think about if that is going to make for a reliable daily driver.

i'd rock my body kit on my car anyday other than my oem bumper and lip..everybody out there has the same lips especially when it comes to civic's..its either the mugen, si, or cf spoon lip..those are all nice lips..but its not really anything to set yourself from the guy next to you..its ridiculous going to a car meet and having the only thing different from your car and the car next to you being the wheels you have on..i love the hate that body kits get just because some people chose to do them bad..i've received more positive than negative on my car and i think it's just because i chose a kit that'll flow correctly and i played it off well..and the sticker..well..why put a sticker of something that doesn't belong on that car..his car isn't a ferio so why put a ferio sticker on

It's true that some body kits work but most don't. Not to mention it's much cheaper to slap a lip kit on, but I def agree that it's annoying that Everyone's got the same lips and look alike lol. That being said OP unless ur planning on really building the engine and boosting the s**t outta it. Or building it N/A and not really having a DD anymore ur not gonna make 400hp simple as that. More reasonable goal would be 200whp (around 220-230hp) with it moderately built.

Yes I guess I don't hate body kits... I've just seen crappy ones mostly from ricers or like the civics with stick on hood scoops or stuff like that... Id consider a body kit, only if it was real nice, and I have you stary out with a stock motor n work my way up to 400hp.. I know that...

yea i wouldnt get a crappy body kit, and i dont want like a custom look.. i just want like a nice, clean, usdm/jdm look..

and the ferio stuffs emblems and decals only cause its from a jdm civic... not like some universal wing that you can purchase for every car.. thats the look im not going for at all

how is 400hp unrealistic and funny... who said id have a stock setup? and id have 146hp n 133 lb/tq bone stock with out a vtec head.

you're talking about power at the flywheel. Power to the ground will be less. 400whp is not so simple to come by and usually isn't very reliable as a daily.

2slo4u's body works because its a genuine body kit designed with function in mind from a true performance company. Not just a wild name and random bits of fiberglass in the shape of your favorite transformer body kit. There aren't too many people that are willing to buy legitimate parts to have a functional and decent looking body kit.

yea true about it not being reliable... might have to tone it down to maybe 300... and yea im just not into body kits... if i dont need one then i wont get one, but im not gonna get one to make it "wide body" or like something thats really really cheap looking...and thats just my opinion.. i know some people like the body kits, or the universal "style" looking body kits... just not me

End of the day...do what you want. My brother and I built a 400+ hp integra that he used as his daily driver. 50 miles just about everyday. So it can be done. Was it fun to drive? Sometimes. Did it get good mileage..sometimes =).

Lx y7 motors actually have 106 hp 103 tq

Reality is, there's a limit to what one to can do, this mentality of "being different" is tired and leads to crappy overdone cars.
There is something to be said about a nice, clean, tasteful, good running, reliable, and well done vehicle.
