Had my drum lesson and now I'm about to shower and chillax. Damn I'm tired all of a sudden...

I had a very spirited drive back home and 2nd gear keeps popping more and more :(. It stays in if I'm driving normal but if I'm taking corners hard and bouncing, it'll pop out. Heck, it even pops out when I'm driving normal sometimes. So annoying...I'm thinking I'm going to need another transmission by next fall.

^that sucks John. Is there a way to fix it without having to by a new tranny?

Today I worked 7-3:30. I got pissed by being bossed around by lazy people. Midnight management (they're there till 9ish) told me my job responsibilities aren't important and I need to do midnights stuff they didn't do. So I changed my my availability so I don't have to put up with it anymore once te new schudule goes up. The earliest I can work now is 10am so I avoid the midnight workers who blow everything onto me and the early morning lazy people who do nothing. Today I was asked to bring a coffee mug from the office to the break room. They couldn't do it because they had to go on break. I told them off on that one.

Then I got home and slowly putzed around moving all my small things into my new room. Now I'm finished. My feet are really sore so I'm going to either spend the night on forums or watch a couple episodes of Futurama then go to bed early.

I could repair 2nd gear but I'm not going to. It was fixed many years ago and my dad and brother split the bill...it was over $1000. f*** that s***. You can buy a used d-series transmission in good shape for like a buck fiddy. I didn't really know what was going on at the time they took the car in to get fixed. I was 5 hours away at school. They told me after it got fixed how much it was and my jaw dropped. I didn't want to tell them d-series transmissions are a dime a dozen and they could've said 9/10ths of their money.

Having bad management sucks. Having lazy bad management sucks even more. There are so many people at my job that just point fingers at someone else, b**** about how people don't do their jobs right, then turn around and don't do the job right themselves. Their excuse is, "well this person didn't do their job right so why should I?". You know....if everyone just did their job the right way and if they didn't, simply shoot an e-mail saying something like, "hey this was messed up just FYI", the company would run so much smoother. But no, once one person does their job wrong, it's just a domino effect and s*** gets f***ed up more and more.

Have you checked your linkage and/or syncros? Is there any grinding, or just popping out?

I was having the exact same issue but no grinding, and luckily 2 of my bolts came loose somehow and I just had to tighten them; been fine ever since.

My and the wifey got s***faced tonight. Ended up holding her hair out of her face as she puked in the toilet... good times. Us young parents need to remember what it feels like to be in our 20s sometimes. We might have frightened the next door neighbors though.

Excited to think about getting my coilovers soon. I'm an idiot though because I thought putting off the alignment until after I got the coilovers was going to save me money but I'm already seeing inner tread wear on the new tires on my new wheels... f***! Toe is a b***h.

Anytime you raise/lower, go with an an alignment. I'm getting ready to have mine aligned, again.

I don't know s**t about transmissions. But the linkage is good. It doesn't pop out under load. It pops out when it's in 2nd gear and I'm not on the gas. Very rarely will it pop out under load, but VERY mild load, like when I first shift into shift...it just randomly pops and I have to push the clutch back in and put it back in.

Should always get an alignment after installing new suspension components or adjusting height.

For some reason, my toe is good all around, but my camber is only good on the driver side. The passenger front and rear tires have -3º of camber. I want to buy camber kits next year.

Are you sure it is? My car was doing the exact same thing. I'd just be driving like normal, and it would pop out of specifically 2nd gear only. It would instantly do it if I got on it and threw it into 2nd. That's the first place I'd check if there's no grinding when shifting.

I'm shaking like a mofo at my desk right now doing reports and invoices. I might have taken a half pill from a bottle of ephedra (sp?) that I acquired. I have specific doctor's orders NOT to take these, but I couldn't wake up at all this morning. Plus, it suppresses my appetite so I won't eat!

sounds like you broke your 2nd gear synchro spring. its a little metal hoop similar to a jesus clip on an impact gun that holds the socket in place. but on a synchro obviously it holds the synchro in place. its not very difficult to replace yourself if you have a weekend to spare...

What do people mean by grinding exactly? The only time a grinding noise has came ot of my tans is when i don't put the clutch in all the way and i shift, but that's operator error. Is that was you guys speak of? To check the synchronizers you have to take the whole trans apart. eh, i would just buy a working used trans. If have a nother car, send that to get rebuilt. Or like i said, buy a working used one. THEN you can send out your original one for rebuilt, and eventually thro it back on. You could also make some of your money back by selling the working condition one you used temporarily. Or you can keep it

its not difficult to take a trans apart. idk why everyone is so scared to do it. if you can swap a transmission on your own, you should be able to figure out how to rebuild a manual transmission.
its worth the money savings when your parts only cost ~$100

2nd gear doesn't grind. It only grinds if the clutch isn't in all the way or I pound the living s*** out of it when I'm racing in street warzzz. It does make a grinding noise when it slips out because it's slightly engaged but not enough to move the car so I just push the clutch in and tap the shifter back in.

And yes Kelly, it ONLY pops out when I'm not on the gas, otherwise it has a tendency to slip out / doesn't stay engaged. Sometimes if I'm rolling in 2nd and slam on the gas, it'll pop out.

I'd rather not deal with a transmission. I've never taken one off myself and I don't feel comfortable enough to do it. Major engine or drivetrain components like that...I won't touch.

Yes, the same noise, just popping out of gear. It's just reversed is all.

Well checking the linkage is CAKE. Jack car up, scoot under, go through linkage b/c it's RIGHT THERE in front of you, done. If it's not that, syncros.

Work from 10:30 - 8:00 today. Hoping to make at LEAST $150 in tips after what a shitty day I had yesterday. Just finished my first cup of coffee, about to pour the next.

Considering trading the black side skirts for my painted ones once I get my coilovers on and see how low I'm going to set her. I've been toying with pulling the lips off altogether... I don't know.

I was under there a few weeks ago. The linkage is fine.

Anyywwayyysssssssssss..... I think I need a thinner blanket. I keep waking up during the night. I'm not sweating or feel hot but I feel uncomfortable sometimes.

I woke up at 4 today and I kept tossing and turning for 15 minutes then finally was able to sleep for like a half hour before my alarm went off. That's probably why I feel out of it right now... :(. My sleep cycle got all fuxed up!
