My dream car: EBP EM1

Hello ClubCivic members. Name's Dominick, and I just recently purchased my dream car: an EM1 in Electron Blue Pearl. I paid $5000 for it and it is a 1999 with about 185,xxx miles on it. I live in an area of PA, that is known for being a playground for European cars (mostly VW's) and Mustangs. I am the only kid with one of these cars around where I live. I got the car a week ago and have had to find excuses to go out and drive it. I have been a member of ClubCivic for almost three years now and have enjoyed getting ideas and plans from others around the net.

My plans for the car are to keep it a daily driver, and also make it a track day/autocross car. I grew out of the street racing fad about an eon ago, so now the focus is on making the car a respected track veteran that can kick my many friend's domestic cars' ass.

Now on to the pictures/modification list:

Exterior:
-Electron Blue Pearl
-JDM Red Honda badges (front & rear)
-Type-R Front Lip
-Fog lights
-Si spoiler
-Rare roof spoiler
-OEM Si Rims
-OEM head- and taillights
-OEM hood
-Mud guards (not quite sure exactly what they are, but there different)

Interior:
-OEM seats
-Color matched inserts
-Sony headunit
-(4) Infinity Kapa 6" subs

Engine:

-B18C1
-Chipped P72 (OBD 2 to OBD1)
-AEM CAI
-Skunk2 Pro Series Intake Manifold
-Innovative Mounts steel motor mounts
-Vibrant Catback Exhaust system

Transmission:

-GSR Transmission
-Excedy 9lb Flywheel

Chassis/Suspension:

-Skunk2 ProS Coilovers (includes shocks & struts)
-GSR Axels

Other:

-6k H.I.D.s

It needs some TLC because there are more dents and scratches than I can count. Both foglights don't work, the interior is in need of some repair, it needs floor mats, and the entire front end needs to be replaced (bumper, fenders, hood). By far the worst part it the trunk. When I actually got around to cleaning it, underneath the spare tire was stagnent water mixed with rust and an array of tools. I cleaned it out as best I could and now the trunk bed looks like s***. This is my dream car, however, and I look forward to working on it until my fingers bleed. Let me know your comments/concerns. Thanks you for looking and ClubCivic rules!

Oh yea, almost forgot, I plan to purchase a new OEM front end, JDM fenders, a Type-R lip and some new foglights. As well as new interior goodies, and attempt to fix most of the problems myself, or as best as I can.

Looks clear =) I am not feeling the color match on the interior, mud guards or the rear visor at all. EBP FTW!

you went from an rsx to a em1?
Yea. The RSX was nice but it just didn't feel right.

Yea. I might take the roof visor off as well as the mud guards. I gotta fix the interior before I start changing the blue back to black. Thanks though.

What do you want to do with the interior? I have a lot of extra interior parts if you want to hit me up =) I do like your plans for AutoX. Maybe you can make a trip down to NC the next time our team hosts an event at NCCAR

I remember back in the day, like 1999. I was 19 years old. I saw a brand new ebp em1 at the dealership, they had one of each color. The blue one was my dream car at the moment ! In 2003 I stopped in that dealerhip and asked if they could find me a 92-95 hatch, they said they'd look around at other stores and auctions. A month or so later I got a call from the salesman asking if I'd be interested a ebp em1 that was just traded. Of course I asked price, was $18,000 at the time, like 35,000 miles or so. - said yeah, fax paper work, set a date and drive the 5 hours to trade my accord. They held it off the lot, my friend was head of detail at the honda dealership. He kept it inside quite often and touched it up daily. I was on cloud 9! I actually had one of my dream cars. My own EBP EM1!! Young and dumb, couldn't a afford it. My dad ended up making the payments for 1 1/2 years, $420 car payment a month/$380 insurance a month. Totally f**ked myself. Sold the car to my friend and was upside down $3,00 on the loan. Bank loaned me enough for a super clean 92 cx and tacked on the $3000 to that loan, paid $2800 for the hatch. Leasson learned. Pay cash for cars. Now ebp em1's can be had for cheap and I WILL HAVE ANOTHER SOME DAY SOON!!

I need to replace the floormats, the e-brake, fix the hood popper handle, fix the center console, fix the radio bezel, and find out how to fix the power locks and windows. If you know how to do any of these, I wuold be super gratefull if you could help me out. I would love to try Autocross, no matter where its at.
