exhaust confusion

I have a 99 lx sedan and im planning to upgrade the exhaust but when i look places there are usually only like two available. but if i look at the ex there are a ton why is this .. and are the chassis really that different?

U can get the ex exhaust but will have to have a midpipe made or atleast a new bung welded up!

its because the ex had a different exhaust manifold than all the other sub models if im not mistaken the lx,hx and dx all had a 2 piece exhaust manifold with the cat built into the lower half. thus making the piping lengths different. and im guessing most exhaust companys are figuring that the buyers will be doing a full exhaust upgrade... :what:

As it's been stated, the reasoning is the motor. You'll need an EX header and an EX cat if you want a full exhaust system to work easily on a Non-EX/Si.

as said above you need the ex header, and ex cat then buy the exhaust for the ex model. Also the 02 sensor will need to be extended.
