Heating / Cooling Control indicator bulbs

I have a 1996 Honda Civic. There is no lighting around the heating / cooling controls so they a totally black at night. There must be some bulbs burnt out behind the controls but I cannot see how the remove the temperature and fan controls to get at the bulbs. Can anyone tell me how to access these bulbs?

Sorry I have nothing to contribute, but just a side note, it's really cool to see the admin active on the site. I've noticed a lot of changes even since I joined and I like where the site is going. Keep up the good work

Also, if I might ask, does anyone know if 5th gen's are supposed to have lights for the heater controls? Because mine doesn't.
