Stick direction...

Okay..... I recently got new bushings and new parts for my stick because it would swing around in any gear and was extremly loose... at first i hated it but i got use to it pretty fast..... Now i HATE my stick, it seems the idiot who installed it did it completly wrong !

While in neutral, the stick is pointing towards the front of the car......NOT STRAIGHT UP.

I go to first and now its pointing towards the front EVEN MORE, this makes it impossible to stay in my seat and shift, i must lean out and reach and shift.......

Bringing it into second and forth the stick is facing stright up as youd expect it to be in neutral....But of course its not.....I want my old one back haha...the broken one. Heres some pictures to let u see what i mean.....

Also if anyone can tell me whats wrong and maybe supply me with some directions to fix this....itd be of great help ! THANKS !

It looks like the bend in the shifter is facing the front of the car instead of the back. Just take it out, rotate it 180 degrees, and reinstall it.

If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself.

clearly........ Or you can pay someone 200 bucks to f*** it up
I hope you didn't pay $200 for someone to install a shifter. You could have used your spare tire jack and installed the shifter yourself in 30 min.

Why would you go back to that guy??? Do you realize how huge of a rip off it is to pay $200 for a shifter install. It's a REALLY simple job. I can understand making him fix it because you've already paid for it but certainly don't give the guy any more business.

He's not a professional mechanic if he can't install a shifter correctly. Unless you're ASE certified or have gone to school to be a mechanic and graduated, I don't consider you a professional mechanic. Helping dad as a kid doesn't count in my books.

And he let you drive away like that? He must have had to drive it to either get it off the lift (if he used one) or move it out of the garage or something... Or at least gotten in the seat to check it after installing it. Yet he doesn't say anything?

I wouldn't go back to him again if I were you.... You got ripped off bad.

Go back to him and tell him he did it wrong and you would like him to fix it at no cost as it was his fault. Any reputable guy / company would fix their own mistake for free.

WUT. Are you serious?

I did my own with tiny little jackstands. And I'm not a little girl. It's seriously not hard.
