Does anyone else have trouble with Energy Suspension bushings?

I'm trying to install the Energy Suspension bushings on my front LCA's and having some difficulties. There seems to be a metal sleeve inside the hole where the bushing goes. This decreases the size of the hole and won't allow the bushing to slide in. I measured the diameter of the bushing, hole, and sleeve with calipers. The bushing and hole are the same size, but with the additional width of the sleeve, it is too narrow for the bushing. Do these sleeves come out or are the bushings meant to be compressed into the sleeve?

Here you can see the hole and the sleeve inside. The bushing would slide in perfectly without the sleeve.

Here is another picture of the sleeve.

I have this problem on both the bushings on my front LCA as well as my rear trailing arm. They are all the same way. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

I can help. I did my rear trailing arms on my 98' Cx in the summer of 2010. I replaced them with Energy suspension too. The oem busing fro the reat trailing has a metal sleeve on the O.D of the oem bushing. First let me tell you how i removed the old bushings from the rear trialling arm.

I burned away the oem bushing and along fell off the metal sleeve that was on the O.D of the oem busing. The trailing arm was left with just a straight thruough cylinder hole where the bushing once was. I did not take it to machine shop to have the new Energy Suspension busing press it. I decided to do it my self, it was not an easy task, but i got them in. The fitment was flawless.

I have not replaced any bushings on the front end of my suspension but its something that i will do. How about if you apply some heat to the front lca and that sleeve there might just fall out?

Thank you, that was what I was looking for. I was unsure it the sleeves came out or not, but now I know. The front suspension is exactly like the rear, just smaller. They still have sleeves. So now, once I find the way to remove the sleeves, the bushings will fit. If I figure out an easy way to remove the front, I will post a how-to. Thanks again.

I used this DIY years ago and it worked perfectly. Didn't have any issues with R&R.
Awesome, this will really help. That is the exact problem that I'm having. Thanks.

Not yet. I have the full CTR/EM1 front suspension setup: LCA, shock fork, and 26mm sway bar. I just had them powder coated and was going to do the bushings until I ran into this problem.
