Quality in terms of physical appearance and actual quality of the product itself are 2 very different things. A polished turd is still a turd. Don't be surprised if the car bounces all over the place and handles like garbage. There is a very distinct fine line between bouncy and stiff.
I'm used the bouncy ride as it is. The green Civic has Eibach springs but the front ones are cut, bouncy house haha but I'm fixing that issue this summer. And the polished turd comparison is true haha can't argue with that. But they can't be thaaaat bad can they? I've been looking into getting one piece coilovers for the green Civic. Done some homework but I'm still undecided. I'm gonna be racing quite a bit this summer and since it'll be my daily this summer aswell I want a really good well rounded set. What do you guys suggest?

They're not absolutely horrendous to the point where you want to punch a baby and throw it off a cliff... But they don't look comfortable at all. I've seen a lot of local Civic's slammed and I can tell they're on a junk setup because when their car bounces, it looks like they bounce for forever. And I would say eBay sleeves are safer than cut springs haha. Cut springs is just dumb (I RARELY call things dumb on here but that justifies it).

For racing a daily, Progress CS-II's. They're just not designed to go super low. You can even do Koni/GC's and get custom spring rates but it's going to be several hundred more. For spring rates, around 3-400 would probably be perfect for an aggressive but street-able daily. Or you can even do Function and Form Type I's. Some people don't like to recommend them but I personally like them. For 96-00 Civic's, I believe their spring rates are somewhere around 630F/350R which leads to a lot of understeer to my knowledge (which is safer than oversteer) so ideally, it's not the best setup for racing, but it beats eBay and stock and a lot of spring/shock combo's (IMO).

Keep in mind it's more than coilovers though. I'd recommend a 19+mm rear sway bar and with that you'd need a subframe reinforcement brace. And also a good summer sticky street tire. Then with that you'd need to get some 15" or even 16" if you prefer that. You can spend upwards of $5-600 for summer street tires but those are for some of the best. You can settle for something like Yokohama S. Drives which are superb in both dry and wet. I spent around $380 shipped for a full set of 205/45/16's and I plan on getting them again because I really like them. I want something stickier but the other tires I want don't come in 205/45 and I'd have to roll my fenders to get the others to fit.

Check out the stickies in the suspension tech section. There are good reads there.

Yeah dude thank you, that's helpful. I wanna drop it low, forgot to mention that. Not like scraping pan just cruising low, but definitely tucking tire. I'm not too sure what the tires I have on my green one I've forgotten but the rims are 15x7 Rota Torque's wrapped in Pirelli's. Shes blocked in the snow so I can't give you the tire size but I like the tires a lot but wet condtions they seem to lack. When we had a freak snow storm here in New Hampshire during Halloween the silver car wasn't ready yet, but I assumed I'd be able to handle a couple inches before it came down real hard. Holy s**t I've never been more scared. I literally rolled back down a few hills trying to go up 3-4 times. So scary. It just sucks though with the cost of things. I'm starting school this summer so all my money will be tied up in that. And saving money is hard for me. But I have learned going with the short cut cheap route isn't worth it. With the silver car I don't care about knockoff brands, eBay parts and such cause after the drop I don't plan on dumping any money into it other than doing oil changes and tune ups. But with the green one I'm not cheaping out.

Remember, the lower you go, the higher the spring rates should be to help prevent the suspension from bottoming out a lot. Slammed and comfortable do not go hand in hand at all. Also, I'd recommend extended top hats in the front. They give a little bit of extra shock travel room.

Are they all-seasons? You shouldn't be driving summer tires in the snow at all. I noticed a change in grip with my S. Drives in anything below 45-50ºF.

If you see snow, I highly recommend getting snow tires (all 4). They're worth it and make a huge difference. My driveway is at an incline (not STEEP but it's a pretty decent hill) and for the first time ever in snow, I can actually start from a stop on it and slowly climb up it with my new Hankook i*Pikes.

But I have learned going with the short cut cheap route isn't worth it. With the silver car I don't care about knockoff brands, eBay parts and such cause after the drop I don't plan on dumping any money into it other than doing oil changes and tune ups.
:thumbs up. At least you know before you get too far into it.

Nah the tires on the green one are summers, and the silver one's are all season. I've never had all seasons and I can say they suck for straight up snow driving. more than an inch I'm all over the road. :(

Well I painted everything, came out okay. I'm waiting to hear back from this kid from a couple cities over, were gonna trade some of my goodies for his rear bumper. But yesterday it was nice, so I took the green one out for a wash!

And one more look before sleeping again. =)

I'm still waiting on the coils to be put it, I don't have the hundred bucks right now so I'm seeing if anyone around here will do it for free or 20 bucks haha.

Haha yeah I found out who did it. Sluts I might add, one of them completely ruined my friends love life. But anyway. One of her cleaned up. Stickerless!

That's why I don't bring my car to parties, I don't want stupid drunk girls falling/driving into my car. Although watching them eat it on my front tow hook is pretty awesome...

SOOOO much better stickerless :thumbs up

And the coilovers? Oh hunay....
I rocked those for about four months. I absolutely hated them. You're wayyyy better off saving your pennies and getting better suspension. Trust me.

And btw, you're green EJ is lovely. So clean.

A little preview of what I've done the last few days. Ventvisors, painted the lip, mirrors and skirts, lowered (fronts are maxed, rears are 3/4 down), and welded the cat on.

I'll get more pics later, the car's dirty but I don't give a fuhhh.
