im tossing the same idea...the B20 would be nice for your car IMO because it will make u just a little different from others...and with the right set up u could gain more performance with the VTEC head(Redline) and with the B20 compression you could boost it to some good numbers if you go force induction...I'm kicking around the idea of a b20v....
Yeah my buddy has a fully built one in his DA so I'll drive it and see how I like it. I like the concept of it. I love the torque of the B20 and then you can get the top end and VTEC from the B16.

yes, but you gotta go lower to really be at risk lol and just drive smarter. its not hard to not smash a pan, pay attention to the road and watch for rutted lights

Agreed. Any dumped car can shatter an oil pan. If you're paying attention and drive smarter, you'll be fine. I believe companies make skid plates too. If not, you can have one welded up. The k24 pan is steel too vs. the cast aluminum K20 pan so you'd have better odds with that.
