I want to re-create this > http://www.brandeating.com/2011/09/review-taco-bell-bacon-ranch-chicken.html

It's amazing.
It's me and my fiance's favorite snack at Taco Bell and unfortunately they discontinued it.

Since then we've been trying to re-create it and it's just not working out.

From what I've researched, it simply contains..

-Chicken
-Bacon ranch
-A melt of three cheeses (Cheddar, Mozzarella, and Pepper Jack.)
-A warm flatbread. (not sure on the type of bread. Similar to a Gordita.

Any tips? Ideas? Pointers?

I know this is ridiculous but this would be great if I could get it right. lol

Well see, I'm trying to replicate it, like down to the point where it'll taste just like the ones from taco bell. Or as close as I can get.

Why not throw your own twist into it if you're going to make it your own? Try making it with ground beef, or possibly steak. Use the Mexican blend cheese. Try different seasonings. Throw some rice in. This is the beauty with hispanic food...you can mix and match, and it still tastes great. I make homemade tacos from time to time....it's bangin.

You're mostly gonna have to work on how your chicken tastes. Get the taco bell seasoning mix and make your chicken with that. from there get the mexican blend cheese, ranch, and flatbread. Cannot believe they discontinued that.... It was so good

Right? lol It really isn't the chicken that's hard to mimic, it's more the cheese and bacon ranch. I can't seem to balance the cheeses. It's either, too much jack, or too much mozzarella. Also I can't find a bacon ranch with the same flavor as theirs.

Here are the ingredients for their bacon ranch sauce: Soybean Oil, Buttermilk, Water, Distilled Vinegar, Egg Yolk, Bacon (Cured With Water, Salt, Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrite. May Also Contain Smoke Flavoring, Sugar, Dextrose, Brown Sugar, Sodium Phosphates, Potassium Chloride, Flavoring), Salt, Sugar, Garlic*, Onion*, Glucono Delta Lactone, Natural Flavor, Lactic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate And Sodium Benzoate Added As Preservatives, Spices, Natural Smoke Flavor, Propylene Glycol Alignate, Mustard Seed, Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guantylate. Calcium Disodium EDTA Added To Protect Flavor. *Dehydrated. CONTAINS: MILK, EGGS

Look at the actual food ingredients (ex. Brown sugar... not sodium nitrite) and then look at the label of the bacon ranch you're using. See if it's missing any of those ingredients.. and if so, try adding them to get the flavor you want.

as for the cheeses - take a look at this website and figure out which cheese recipe they used... then look at the ingredients and see if you're missing something - http://www.tacobell.com/nutrition/ingredientstatement

Looks like that thing is some sort of Quesadilla.

You can make a Dilla with corn or flour tillas.

But if you want to use flat bread you can.

Chuby girls are made from the same thing that tillas are made, Corn masa. Masa is Spanish for dough.

Ah, I mean.. that is a good idea. But I want to do less experimenting and more of an exact mimic. But who knows, I may stumble upon something that makes it even better.

Trying the recipe tomorrow :D

Fingers crossed
