2 horrible problems

ok the first one is, when i go to take off n my 99 civic hx it tends to peal out quite easily, without even giving it alot of gas, its like as soon as i let off the clutch just a little bit it does it... is there a way to stop this, or should i let the car warm up first????...........

now the 2nd one is how the hell do i fix my idle to keep it at 1k rather then it jumping all the way down to 100 rpms, (that maybe an exaggeration bc its on the line thats right before the 0 rpms lol) sorry about not explaining them very well

well for the first one i would say get better tires (weather it be worn out or just a shitty no name tire, its obveious that it has poor grip) did this just start recently


second, all yo uhave to do is adjust the idle speed. to were ever you want it. let me know if you need to know how to do that.

on your throttle body there is an idle screw... turn that with a screw driver with the car idling and voila!

actually ctr its been doing it every morning when the car is cold, and all my tires have plenty of tread left, its like its still on its warm up idle, lol u no where it jumps up to 1500 rpms to warm up... and is the screw on the left side of the throttle body??

Are you sure it's your tires that are squealing? It sounds to me like you have a loose power steering belt or alternator belt.

When you say your idle is high, do you mean like it's going up to 1500 rpm, and down to 500 rpm, then back up to 1500 rpm?

no its when the car is cold in order for it to warm up it stays at 1500 rpms, and when i go in first and do the gas clutch thing, i just ease off the clutch and its like im poping the clutch and u no breaking traction.....

lol and now the civic wont stay started after cleaning the IACV piss just what i needed

maybe your having other problems as well..turn the screw back if you turned it before..are you sure you plugged in all the plugs ?

haha, and 2slow, i dont no where the idle screw is, but i pulled the IACV off my grandpa cleaned it then i installed it, so now the car stays on.... and all plugs are plugged in, im just thinking i need a new clutch, since the car has over 265k, and im not to sure what needs to be changed or fixed so im learning as i go, and i just found out that i need new u joints after looking under the car, when i was have 2.25 inch piping installed lol

Idle screw should be in the throttle body, looks like a slot that you can fit a flat head screw driver in, you'll see some threads on the walls as the screw kinda sits in a "well". Does your idle fluctuates or it stays that low?

Civics don't use U-joints bro. Unless they're AWD.

Are you talking about CV joints? You have four....

And for your idle concern, from what I've read you said when it's cold it jumps to 1500. Does it stay there or fluctuate? And once the vehicle is warm it idles super low? Do I have this straight?

So when the vehicle is warming up it is going to idle higher so the engine can warm up somewhat quickly. And with that idle being high your throttle is going to be more open making it more "jumpy". Now when it's warm it idles really low, you can adjust your idle screw or you might have a vacuum leak somewhere. I fluctuating idle could indicate this as well.

So, what you're saying is that it accelerates on its own? The idle must be really high, because if you do not give it gas when letting off the clutch, it should actually come closer to stalling, then to burning out.

So , it sounds like the idle is really high.

This happens alot to Civics that get their engines swapped. It's usually caused by not hooking up the emissions systems correctly. Is your car swapped? maybe the is sensor not connect or a air hose that is not connect or connect to the wrong port.

actually not swapped all stock, and what im trying to say is when its n its warm up stage, it goes up to 1500, but right as soon as i ease off the clutch and give it the same amount on the gas pedal, (and i mean not much at all) thats when it peals out... And crash i wasnt sure what they were called lol since i never had to replace them, until i was getting the piping done, but now i no they are CV joints

are you sure its peeling out or just the noise it sounds like? has someone looked at the car from the outside and you took off normally and they saw the wheel spin?..im guessing you hear this on the passenger side only?

nope drivers side lol, and come to think about it i do have some loose gravel in front of my house, and im thinking my clutch is really touchy in the morning but thats just me

You're also running rich in the morning because you need a richer fuel mixture to warm up the car. And are you hearing any clicking noises when you turn?

And what makes you think you need to replace the axles? Are the boots torn?
