Yes, they could... but you're forgetting that they're members who have only been here for 6 months and only have 250 posts... Thus the question

because people have been asking about vip lately and what they would need just doubled time wise and quadrupled post wise. some of them may never reach that post count lol

We keep getting a lot of questions about when people can get into VIP after hitting the 6 month / 250 post mark. Once you receive the badge, you know that you CAN access VIP. If you do not have the badge, your permissions have not yet been updated.

So after the 250 post and 6 months, Users STILL need permissions?



If that is what you are saying, it does not make any sense at all. Policy is -

You must be registered for atleast 6 months and have 250 posts or more to enter this forum There may and will be offensive materials such as language, porn, etc. By entering this forum you attest that you are not violating any laws or regulations disallowing you to view such material.

^^Permissions does not equal permission... if that's what you're thinking.

Permissions are the settings on a site, computer, whatever that allow a user to do something. The permissions do not auto-update the second you reach 6 months and 250 posts. It takes some time... but they usually update within 24 hours.
