I just listen to the engine to shift you can tell ,but usually at 3k-3.5k rpms it just depends on how you drive, and maybe your letting go of the clutch to fast thats why your car jerks

U need to let ur rpms drop to about where they would be in the next gear and let the clutch out slowley. It takes time u will get better and better at it to where its apart of u

Question... do you have a tachometer? cause if you do this will really help you. I tought my gf to drive a stick in 10 mins so its not that hard. what I told her to do when starting out is to start out by keeping the car at about 1k rpms (doesn't spin tires if you dump the clutch) then just ease out on the clutch and once you get moving give it more gas. thats the best way to start and once you get more experience then you can start playing around with the rpms and stuff. as far as shifting through the other gears goes I normally shift between 3.5 - 4k rpms (but thats just me) prolly the lowest you want to shift at is like 2.5k because once you up shift it'll start bogging down slightly

For first gear, 1-1.5k rpm, slowly let out clutch, but you will get the hang of it, every car is different. Oh, and practice, practice, practice lol.

I thought I recognized the username. Master is a bit of an aggressive statement, lol. I assume you can heel/toe now?

Most stock pedal positions suck for heel-toe.
I can't really say much for most generations of the Civic, but every one I've driven it's taken minimal adjustment. Now, if you mean actually using your heel to rev match rather than the side of your foot, you're correct. But that is also impractical in every other car I've driven

In this video you can see Senna using the same method I use

In this video is the other method, but also notice the pedal extends to the floorboard where our cars have a gap
