Hi there. Right basically I'm from the uk. I had a 1996 Honda civic d14 but I had to scrap it and a silly fool decided to drive into me and wrote the car off. I then had a 1998 Honda civic d15 but sold it. I'm now lookin at getting another d14 or d15 but I want to turbo it. Basically I need some info. I've got about £600 to spend. I know it's not that much but Ive got a baby on the way and I'm only 19 so don't really have much money. I want to turbo it to get a bit more power. I'm not really sure what else I'm lookin for. I know everybody's against it but eBay has got a kit for £488. I really dunno what to do though. I'm a mechanic so I can do the work myself. I just need some info and help......pleaseeeeeee helppppp meeeee

i was thinking the same thing..thats like telling the mechanic at honda how to do your own car.

but if you have a kid coming along, turbo is the last thing you should want and the cheap ebay turbo kits is the last thing you should get..how about a nice recaro car seat to keep him/her safe

19 years old? 19 U.K years or 19 U.S years? Wow, either way you shouldn't worry about your car.

I've got another car as a family car. I've got a vw bora. The civic is more of a project and I'm a mechanic but an apprentice so I'm at college learning about stuff like this I know how to do it and how to fit it and the setup just need to Know more about what sort of kit to get and how much horsepower I would be lookin at. I only came on here for advice. Not for people to tell me how to live my life.

Take your £600 and put it in the bank. At 19 with a child on the way, still in school, and worring about turboing a civic makes me kinda sad. It ain't easy im 25 outta school, married 5 years, own my house, and was still scared of having a child. Believe me they go thru pampers and formula at a scary amount keep the money for a rainny day. Like they said turboing a civic is the last this u should be doing

This seems to be pretty common sense stuff.

You say you don't have much to spend, so save it.
Boosting your Civic falls very low on the priority ladder,(or should) especially when you're that young, in school, and have a child on the way.
With your budget, that's not realistically enough to do it correctly anyway and you'd be wasting your money on junk.

What you should do to your Civic is add a car seat and tint the windows. If you really want to fix it up, maybe a side and rear window visor? Put in a A/C system if it doesn't already have one.

too much money to just have enough power to get from 0-60 in 15 seconds..waste IMO..have you seen the throttle bodies on those things??!?

you need about double what a ebay cost to be reliable, and you still need a tune and software. so keep on saving, better off not going turbo
