Im hoping i put this in the right section. I am looking at picking up a 1996 Civic EX tonight for a good price. I noticed that it had a 99-00 front bumper and was wondering if anyone could tell if anyhting else had been converted to the 99-00 style front end. TIA for the help

If it's truly a 1996 and it truly has a 99-00 bumper, it either had a 99-00 front end conversion or a custom made 99-00 bumper designed to fit on with the rest of the front end being 96-98.

Headlights are the next easiest way to tell 96-98 from 99-00. Google should be able to give you many examples. Otherwise, everything else looks the same.

The upper grill on a 99-00 is wider, that is an easy way to tell. Compare the gaps between the headlights and the grill.

If you don't have grills to compare, it'd be hard to tell which ones which. Part for part, looking at them individually, first comes the bumper, next comes the headlights. At least IMO.

Glad you passed on it cause thats a really bad front end conversion. IF they did that super halfassed theres no telling what else may be wrong with it.
