Cel light with P28

So i picked up a P28 today for 30$ i test drove the car it was in and it worked great CEL light wasnt on in the guys car so when i got home i swapped the P28 in and now my CEL is on but i dont have the vtec engine in yet could that be the issue. cause my CEL wasnt on befoe with the stock P06

Don't guess. Pull the CEL code (see link in my signature).

Then reset the ECU to see whether the code returns.

site 2 didnt work and how would i pull codes i dont have a scanner im resetting ecu now

Click the CEL link in my signature. You just need a short piece of wire to pull the codes.

ok i got 10 10 1 when i watched lights and it pauses then flashes it over again

Reset the ECU. If the code does not return, you are good to go. But first verify that the IAT sensor is not unplugged.

sorry IAT whats that all i did was unplug old ecu and plug the new one in and i dont have the vtec engine installed yet so if thats part of the vtec then i can swap the p06 back in till saturday

so had my buddy come over with his vtec and he didnt have a check engine so im thinkn my car may not have the iat or if it does then we think its got to deal with the vtec engine itself possible i put my stock p06 bak in and all is clear lol

Oh, you have code 21 for the VTEC solenoid. I didn't realize you were reading each CEL blink.

ya lol i didnt know how to read the code so i posted shoulda specified that thanks again ron for the help much appreciated
