Sound systems are the last priority for my car. If it plays my iPod, it'll do.
:word:. I have a Sony deck that is probably shy of being 10 years old. I use an FM transmitter with my iTouch. I actually don't get that much static but when I turn my headlights on it's another story.... Damn ballasts.

Audio is the 1st thing I do to a car. I'm decently happy with my current set up but I really want Focals. mmmmm
I would probably love to have a nice sound system. I used to LOVE having a subwoofer. I'm all about the bass and especially a crisp clean sound. But I can't justify spending hundreds up hundreds for a nice deck, speakers, amp, etc. If I want them nice shits I wouldn't half ass it, I'd buy it all.

There's a reason why it's so cheap now.
Cause it's last years model and they're trying to get rid of old stock for the new model lol. That's why.

So still no one has recommended a brand that's good... Seems like if one person says its good another says it's s**t...

My cars wired for subs and stuff, but I believe in weight reduction ;)

Systems are NOT heavy. If you're worried about weight reduction then you're having the wrong builds w/ stereos. Each one of my boxes custom made for my cars has weighed under 20lbs, and everything is bolted to the frame too.

:like:

Weight reduction only counts if you are racing. If you don't do anything productive, then it doesn't matter.

might make daily driver cars worse. removing all the sound insulation and comforts from the car.
Right! I'm not talking about stop light to stop light racing either.

Although from what little I know about auto-xing in some cases, weight is needed.

On the phone right now with my Identity Monitor account and the f***ing music is DRIVING ME CRAZYYYY. I hate the music you listen to when they put you on hold.... I want to stab my ears. Stupid elevator music.

Oh wait!! I got transferred!!! Now listening to classical music and I'm throwing my hands around everywhere like a conductor. This is better.

just finished updating my network's ip addressing scheme and setting up all the mac assignments for static addresses on my dhcp server. much more organized now. everything is on the same subnet except for guest wifi.

network devices range from .1 to .10
local computers range from .11 to .29 (only oddball range - i like my dhcp/dns/smb server as .10)
mobile devices range from .30 to .49
gaming devices range from .50 to .69
habitual guest devices range from .70 to .99
dynamic dhcp leases range from .100 to .254

so much better now and with plenty of room to grow.

Damn, that is one hell of a home network set up. I had MAC filtering on my network until I forgot the router password and had to reset the damn thing. Probably should write it down somewhere this time...

never ever write down your passwords. worst practice ever. you need something complex, yet memorable. acronyms and anagrams are helpful. in fact, i highly recommend the use of passphrases over passwords.
