Good luck lol i hate smog here but ur gonna need a cat, not check engine light, (i fill up with chevron normally) bad gas can cause u too fail, and ur car must be able to go into 1st 2nd and 3rd gear lol but thats just basics it really depends on if the car is modded or not

well i have some 4-2-1 headers and i want to put them on, and i have the cat that runs right below the headers, so i was thinking of adding the headers and get one that connects to them at the bottom of the car... and of course i have the check engine light its saying my intake sensor, and will it make a difference if i have custom bent 2.25 inch piping thought out the car??

Everything that HonDaReal said and also a CARB exempt (California Air Resources Board) intake or a stock one. I have heard that there are places that do test it and tell you if it passes or not.

Just reset the ECU to see whether the IAT code returns. That may be all you need to do.

You won't pass inspection with any CEL code, so my point is that you need to fix that first.

And why are you concerned with the cat if you don't have a cat CEL code?

i will or technically i have to in order to get it registered in cali.. and being concerned with the cat because, like i said i want to add my aftermarket headers, and didnt no if that would pass, since i would technically relocate the cat to the bottom of the car

As your primary goal is to pass the CA emissions test, keep your car as stock looking as possible so as not to unnecessarily raise any red flags during the inspection.

ok will do, kind of weird how cali is so strict. guess they must like clean air haha.... and i just figured to get an oem cat and get rid of my ugly one thats up front by the headers

They are "strict" as many people call it, because the air in Cali kills/shortens lots of peoples lives which cost lots of money (insurance, hospital).
