i thought i posted on this last night... you do not really feel vtec in your car, a stock d15vtec wont give any signs of crossover.

so how exacly will i now if the vtec works because it feels like a standard 15l there are no power at all the guy that did the dyno said also there is no vtec that he can see when he set the management on the car i think he said 45kw on the wheels and it must be 56kw on the wheel. Were do i begin to see what the problem is

i once heard a staggering fact about honda vtec on top gear: there was no reported failures in vtec ever. if i am correct your kw is equal to 60 hp, in 1993 that car had 93kw off the crank, it is assumed that 15-20 percent is lost to the wheels. that is a loss of 18kw. if i were you i would check compression, and basic maintenance before i thought vtec failed. how many kilometers do you have on the car?

i just had the engine done i did new bearings new rings had the head done i didnt put a new oil pump or water pump in i had a shop look at the block they said it was fine so compresion there must be it is still automatic transmission i just bought a manual gearbox wanna put that in next week i was thinking that there might be something in the head that is not right can it be that the silenoid works and it opens the oil flow but from there does it do what it is supose to do i am not very good when it comes to the head but i must learn if you do a oil presure test what must the readings be

there is a lot more to the 5 speed swap than a gear box, you will need a pedal, a clutch master, and a few other things. for this swap i would gather all the parts listed on this link
http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=157624&highlight=how+to+swap+to+a+5+speed
i really think that your lack of power issue is not an issue with the motor, but the fact that the motor just doesnt have power in the first place.
thanks for the link i have a lot of the parts so far for the swap maybe i dont feel the power with the automatic transmission thats why i first whant to put a manual box in ill see what it does after the change i am picking up the rest of the parts today for the swap thanks for the help
