A uniquely influnced civic

Hi! My name is Thaddeus and this thread with start and continiously be alittle unorthidox. As of this post I do not have the vehicle in possession but I wanted to get my ideas/plans down and recieve any feedback and questions answered. I am in the market for a coupe and I am just waiting for the right one to come available. A little backround about the list, it is long and lofty and i realize this. This is not a 1 year project, this is a however long it takes to finish project. Money is and is not a concern, I am an RN making over 75k and in school for my Nurse Practioner( over 100K ) but I do have a wife and 2 boys which is where the money comes into concern. I plan on doing as much of this as possible, before i became an RN I was a mechanic and while im alittle slow im not stupid so if I ask a dumb question is prolly just to clarify or recertify what I already think the answer is!

Lol enough talk, here is the project plan( some on the list are intentionally left as vague discription because I have either not designed it or have not picked a favorite aftermarket). I grew up around mini-trucks so the list may not appeal to some one here but feel free to share your opinion good or bad. It is not all inclusive or conclusive and as you will see it is dependent on the model i come in possession of*sorry for the long list*:

Like I said I grew up with mini-trucks so some of my preferences wont align with yours but every opinion is valuable and if its excessively rude im sure a mod will step in. I take no offence to any comments.

Thanks for read and commenting! I cant wait to start!

No problem :thumbs up
It's hard to envision your project just off of the mod list alone.

If you're going to put that much money into a show car why not go with something better than a Civic? Don't get me wrong, I love Civics but they don't exactly have show car lines. IMO you'd be better off planning that kind of build for a flashier car and with how expensive of a build you are talking, you could easily get a used 350z or something like that. You could maybe do a couple less mods, end with the same budget and have a much nicer end result.

Well indpiration came from helping build 2 full frame off air bagged minis when i was younger while i was driving a static dropped 5.0l ranger. When it was wrecked i bought a 95 ex coupe for a beater n fell in love with it then it was stolen. Ive loved the 92-95 body style but also loved the air suspension scene. Its alot of fun driving on air and playing with the switches, plus from what i can tell itll be fairly unique in the scene. I know theres plenty of bagged civics but not a ton so itll be nice to build something that appeals to me while not being mainstreamed n overduplicated.

Young- just envision a black coupe with clear corners and lighted side mirrors and a smooth body lol

Im not building a show queen, this will be a daily driven car hence the complex security. And i disagree on the show lines, the 92-95 coupes have some of the best lines imo. Yes its a bit of money but im going to be doing just about all the work myself. And getting another "flashier car" and doing these same modifications could double or triple the budget. Im looking at this list and yes there is a quite a few aftermarket parts but those parts arent going to be that terriblely expensive. The labor yes but like i said im doing most the work myself. Ive pictured a estimated budget of say 25k for mods, 2k for car. So 27k for completion over say 5 years. Getting into a flashy car is what 5-15k plus 25k puts me at 30-40k and a mainstream built car that doesnt do it for me like the 92-95 civic. Maybe im wrong but id rather spend 27-30 on a car i love and it be built by me the way i want versus 30-45k on a car im not as in love with. Is that wrong?

Edit : im sorry i forgot to mention its going to a 92-95 civic coupe.

As long as it's what you want that's all that matters. No one's here to tell you how to spend your money.

I don't think the build you are talking about is as unique as you think it is. It's just a style that's not as popular now as it was 10 years ago. You can do whatever you want with your money but if you spend $25k on a $2k car it's still going to look like it's worth $5k. To me you would be way better off putting that kind of money into a car that's going to be nicer in the end for just a couple thousand more. I don't think the 92-95 coupe is a bad car it's just not designed for show. A car like a 350, S2000, RX8, etc., will look a lot better with those types of mods and actually if you want it to be a DD they would be more reliable too. You won't have to swap a car like that so actually, take that off of your Civic budget and it might even be cheaper to go with a nicer car.

Ive thought about what you said and ive previously thought about the 94-01 integras as well but the cars you are mentioning just dont hold that much appeal to me. When i think 350z, s2000, rx8 and the likes i think performance machines. If i wanted to go the performance route then id build the 68 camaro the wifes been wanting. The build list ive made aligns more with show than go and to reduce a 350z, s2000, rx7/8 etc to primarily show isnt right

Sounds crazy in a bad way cuz ull never come anywhere close to getting what u put into it bak n like sum1 else alrdy said when anyone looks at it they think its worth 5k... 10k max for sumthing of that year unless the whole body was Chrome or gold lol sumthing crazy like that. But on the other hand its ur car, ur money, ur goal so more power to ya. Love all the specific detail n ideas. Would love to see the finish product n I hope the car gets passed down to the kids =]
