Is it their prices? They're reliability? All I've been seeing n hearing about is 6X6X(6262,6265..etc) n GT30-35R. A few borgwarner here n there but don't really here of ppl usin turbonetics. I was thinking on getting a 6262 82a/r for my goal of 450whp pump gas n 550-600whp on the track. Cheapest new one I found was 850+shipping. Then talked to Rolo owner of CentralFloridaTurbo n he said he can get me a Turbonetics for 795 shipped he said its just their version of a 6262 w.e that is. So my mind started to wonder why I nvr see anyone using them so I kinda feel sketchy now bout using em on my build...

If uve ever used one please give sum input. Any questions, tip, suggestions or comments are welcome. Thx

from what i've heard (word of mouth) it's been issues with boost creep and the wastegate not providing adequate boost control. seems like it's a bit unpredictable. i haven't seen any compressor maps personally, and this is all word of mouth, so i'm not sure just how valid it is...in my local subaru circles, however, most people opt for garrett or forced performance when upgrading their snail.

sorry if this isn't much help...

^i've heard the same thing..but on another note i do see some high hp cars use the bigger turbonetic turbo's

Thx for the input, its better then nothing so I appreciate it.

On another note, I waz lookin at some of their similar sized turboes to a 6262 n they all have a "big shaft" on em. Just by lookin u can deff tell their larger then the ones on the 6262...what the benefit of a larger shaft? I'll go wit common sense n say reliability but is that it? Still leaning towards getting 6262 since the lack of info on turbonetics...

a rundown of your set up would make it easier to determine what turbo you should run. But, i can tell you that Precision > turbonetics

i agree with got traction. spend a little bit more on a precision turbo, you'll be glad you did.

youre going to see a much better gain from your turbo if you switch to a mini-ram and ditch that log

Only have $1200 to spend... $850 for the 6262 and $350 for CFT to retune it, wouldnt mind the mini tho
i would save up and move the project a few months down the line

How much of a diff would it make when u say "much better gain"? Lets say im at 450ish whp @ 16psi... would it b like 10whp? How much whp diff would it b per lb of boost? Thats kinda what im want

i would save up and move the project a few months down the line
Damn a few months?! How much can one be, what would u guys say is a inexpensive mini mani from a decent trustworthy company?

not very much, but i'm not one to make assumptions about anyone's income. your best bet is to check your junkyard
