95 civic ex with an ls swap cold start problems

hey whats up i just got a 95 honda civic ex with an ls swap, b16 tranny..now the problem with it is that when its completely cold it will fire right up without a problem but it bugs out crazyyy unless i keep it rev it up. if i dont rev it it goes below 1000rpms almost to 0 and sometimes will stall out but after it warms u a little everything is fine tuns and starts fine any ideas? also it has a check engine not sure why

carb and choke cleaner works well. Also replace the gasket when you pull em off if ur local honda has em. If not it'll probably be ok too as long as their not too torn up
