95 civic gsr swap. 180k on chassis.
Replaced front brake hoses (L&R)
Replaced rear Left caliper
Bled system, 2 men method, never fail before. Ive bleed this car same way many time before. No different this time.
followed bleeding sequence from manual.
Brake is spongy after bleeding. Bled 5x. With car off and on. Made no different. Brake booster is good. Test it with car off by pumping couple time, pedal become stiff. So booster is fine. notice master cyl is leaking. Bought new one from autozone. Bench bleed it first. Install and bleed more. Still spongy. Took it to mechanic shop. Told them what I did. They bled it. Got a lil bit better but still not firm, still spongy. So the tried bench bleeding the master cyl AGAIN. Same. Then they reverse bleed it. Still same. No leak anywhere. They checked all over. Nothing wrong. Car will still stop, but I feel like I have to push the pedal all the way down. Mech think its because the master cyl was made in china, so the quality is poor and could be that the valving of the cyl is diff too. Tried the original master cyl on bench and its leaking fluid, so oem one is shot.
Any suggestion? If I adjust the pedal travel rod for the cylin would it make a different??
Running out of idea. No air in the brake system. The shop bled it over and over. Different way too.
All around disc brake, no drums. Valvoline synthetic DOT 3/4 fluid.
