How Does One Use a Predator Diablosport u7198

Long story short, I just spent $300 to fix my exhaust, but the CEL has not yet gone away...

A friend of a friends Friend hooked me up with something called a Predator Diablosport u7198.

I have emissions tomorrow and was looking to clear the code JUS to pass emissions.. supposably the friends friend has passed it this way before..

I searched google but I am not finding anything on this, i..e instructions..

I was jus gonna try it but figured I should ask yall just in case so I don't mess anything up?


How do I use the Predator Diablosport u7198 to clear my code?

Waste of money. For your purpose, it's just a code reader and for resetting the ECU. You don't need this device to perform those functions, and it won't eliminate your CEL code for emissions purposes.

You can clear the code by removing the 7.5A hood Back Up fuse for 3 minutes or more and it's free. However, the code will return if there is still a problem that has not been fixed.

didn't buy it, jus borrowed for the nite..

didn't work tho.. is it possible its not for japanese cars?



regarding the pulling of the hood back up fuse..


DIDN"T work either.. i tried it twice, waited 5 mins after each pull, replaced it and the CEL is still on..


I used the diagram of the fuse box and so i'm 99.999999% sure i'm pullin the right one..

what am i doing wrong?

Resetting the ECU does not fix a problem. It just clears the ECU memory. If the problem has not been fixed, the CEL code will obviously return and again be stored in the ECU. What CEL codes are thrown? What did you pay $300 for?

my exhaust fell off, paid $300 to install everything on from the canister, i.e. new cat back? car was louder then a Harley, now is WHISPER quiet..

I just have a YELLOW check engine light on, that doesn't seem to go away..

I was gonna take it to pass emissions tomorrow but was told its an AUTO-FAIlL since the CEL is on...

any tips?

Again, pull the CEL code(s). You can do this at home by jumping the service connector or drive your car to an auto parts store like AutoZone, where they'll pull the code with a code reader.

Fix it. or fail it. But you can post pone your emissions test.

:edit: Im talking about fixing what's actually wrong, not just trying to making the CEL turn off. You can easily get that by remvoing the bulb in the cluster.

:Edit: This predator thing... It reminds me of the stuff people drink before a drug test, those who know that they will fail without doing anything about it lol.
