Anyone do the 98 or 99 center console swap in a 97 civic to reap the benefits of an arm rest? If so got any pics of the swap?

The armrest bolts on to all 96-00 Civics regardless of the dash or climate control.

I have one for sale for $70 shipped if youre interested.

hard bargain

You drive a hard bargain my friend but for less than a third of that I can drive to the junk yard buy one and put it in. Its the smallest price of the whole interior no thanks. I was just asking if anyone did it

Then by all means get it from a junk yard. I have a hard time finding Civic Ex's at the junkyards, usually Dx's but if yours has it then you're in luck!

Make sure to get the U shaped bracket from the rear of the arm rest. Your car doesn't have it and it bolts to the e brake line bracket. Without it, the arm rest will be very wobbly from the rear sine itll only be screwed from the front.

GOOD LUCK!

Any 96-00 armrest will work, it will bolt right in.

The armrest was not exclusive to the Ex model.
I've seen all trims with the with and without it in the salvage yards, some have the armrest, others have the simple e-brake cover piece.

console

Mines a dx I did notice that there are no bolts at the back. Also noticed some integra center consoles like from 94-01 will fit

No, the Integra armrest/console will not bolt up or line up correctly in the 96-00 Civic.
You see them more typically used in the 88-91 Civic.

As the cars get older, you'll see more and more 96-00 Civics in the salvage yards, that's your best bet in finding one for cheaper than market price.

You need to make sure you have the rear bracket that bolts into the body at the rear of the arm rest. That's what keeps the far rear bolted down. I took the arm rest and rear bracket out of my 97 ex coupe and swapped it into my 99 dx hatch.
