Question about the crv cluster

Hey guys new to the forum but not honda's or making power

I just picked up another 1996 civic hb cx and of course the cluster isnt working so I got the car dirt cheap.

Now the question is I know the 97-01 crv clusters work but trying to find a manual one is almost impossible, so I found a couple auto ones and im going to be putting it in.
I know its plug and play with them but im wondering if I can use something to cover the auto piece on the cluster.
Like maybe an aftermarket cover off ebay.

Any input would be great guys thanks!

I've seen them covered up with tape or marker but it just looks like s**t. Best plan is to just leave it as is and ignore it if you can't find a manual cluster.

that's what I was affraid of....
So a guage overlay wont cover up the auto part of the cluster at all?

It's not that, I rathert try different options right now instead of jumping straight into taping it up.

And btw I love duct tape

You could probably use some aftermarket gauge faces for a 96-2000 EX/LX but at that point, why use a CRV cluster?

That looks crappy to me, I'd just leave it with the automatic gears showing.

Order the 5spd manual fuel/temp gauge face?
It's not cheap though (about $70) and may or may not still be available, call your dealer or Majestic to confirm availability and part number.

From my experience it's never a good idea to remove the needles on a gauge cluster. Now matter how careful you are, it's just too easy to mess up the positioning when you put them back.

From the diagram and the way I understand it, it's the entire assembly. You won't be removing the gauge face or needles, it's the whole unit.

Oh yeah, looks like you're right judging by the diagram.
