I'm about to close in on a deal for a 93 VX. I have a few concerns though: the original manifold was stolen and so this seller has an EX manifold and an Integra catalytic converter. The asking price is $3000, which seems a bit high, but it is pretty clean. My question is how practical is it to find/purchase a stock D15Z1 manifold and catalytic converter? I know that the VX setup has a different setup than other 5th gens, but I'm wondering if the part(s) are rare or not. btw, I live in WA

$3k seems pretty steep. You should not have a problem finding a factory 5th gen exhaust manifold and cat converter. They are a dime-a-dozen

I agree a tad steep, I would try to get him down to 2.2K that seems reasonable for a VX.

Depends on the mileage, overall mechanical and physical condition of everything, and location. If it was mint and in tip-top shape, $3000 would be a fair deal. But if it's got 200k miles, has rust forming (or already has a bunch), and needs work, well then that is way overpriced.

The mileage isn't terrible at 174k, but even he suspects it's been rolled back. Unfortunately the market for "gas sippers" is taking on some inflation, so I'm willing to overpay a little bit, but this shoddy rusty manifold/converter setup isn't going to cut it. It's also missing the vx alloy wheels. The exterior and interior are in great shape. So is the engine. thanks guys

really? I heard they're harder to find for the VX trim because it has a different stock setup compared to the other 5th gens.

Call him out on maintenance receipts, or run the VIN # by a Honda dealership and if you get the case of: 200,XXX miles ________________ was changed....you get the point that it has been rolled back. And if you really want a gas sipper; get a 88-91 civic dx hatch with a standard transmission, you'll hit the 40's with ease.

$3k for 174,000 is way too high, I don't care what trim it has.
