It's more likely that your tachometer is incorrect because if he had it tuned they wouldn't lower the rev limit and if it isn't tuned it wouldn't stop there either. What rpm are you at when you hit 70 on the freeway? The limiter on that engine should be 7200

Hell I don't think that any of our american D series are even limited to 6000

If your around 3500 at 70mph and ur tires arent ridiculously sized it sounds like you have a GSR transmission, or more likely your tach is incorrect. Borrow one from a friend or find a cheapo external one and test that out first cuz the LS trans should be around 3000 or so.

On my d16y8 redline is at 7000 rpms and the stock rev limiter is set at around 7500 rpms :oops: yea I've hit it a couple of time

google the numbers that you find. it'll be either the part number or transmission code I can't remember which it is. or post the numbers that you find, in this thread and some one will be able to help you out with it

JH4DC2397WS001334 is the vin number

DC2= B18C

3: 2dr 5spd

9 GSR- Leather seats

W Model year - 1998

So it seems like you have a GS-R transmission
