cant you just install different bulbs to make them light up differently?? sounds corney but just want to know, and are they hard to install, or do they just slip on over the needle

They are gauge faces, meaning they overlay over your stock units.
There are no bulbs, they're Indiglo, like a watch. From searching, the process is called electroluminescence.
