And yeah, my buddy just ordered a valve spring compressor so it shouldn't be too bad. Then the head is pretty much ready to go on! (Minus some seals and other bullshit stuff).Meh, its nice I guess...jk nice pickup GL with install.
how in the hell do you swap them things out??Got these babies today, now going over to my buddy's and we're going to swap it out!
get new valve stem steals awhile and valve guides wouldnt be a horrible idea either. oh and you can get valve spring compressors at the store for like 15 dollarsThanks guys!

they are valve springs and retainers. they take about a mintue a spring to swap out lol its really easy. just compress, use a magnet and remove the little valve keepers, and it comes right off. putting on goes in the same order lolhow in the hell do you swap them things out??
are they valve springs??
teach me!

Bwahahahaha. Ur kidding right?do they add lots of horse power?
they add no horsepower, but are needed for more aggressive camsdo they add lots of horse power?/
jhp sells some skunk 2 ones for b-series
I really hope you're joking.do they add lots of horse power?/

Correct; however it's not necessarily needed. Depending on how aggressive the cams are you can run the stock valvetrain (i.e. since I'm running OE ITRs I could run my valvetrain) but it's better in the long run. You want to have stiffer valve springs to be able to handle the higher lift cam. I just don't want any valves dropping.they add no horsepower, but are needed for more aggressive cams
Re-using the ones I have.are you getting new valve keepers or re using the ones in your head already
Yeah I'll be checking them out while I'm pulling them. I can just order a new set from Honda if that's the case.make sure you dont see any cracks or anything
Wow, my mile long build thread? Thanks! Like you've seen, it's been a slow process.I just went through the WHOLE thread last night. Good job on a clean car! Makes me wish I had done a thread like this too for mine. I had many ups and downs on my build. But Ohhhh well haha. Keep up the good work.
skunk2 makes pretty good quality head parts in my book, some of the highest hp cars ive seen were running there valvetrain stuff. its some of there other parts that they suck with. and there biggest issue headwise was with there k series partsI really hope your joking.
And please don't buy a Junk2 valvetrain. Save yourself the heartache. If you're going to go aftermarket I'd honestly go with SuperTech or Port Flow.

Studs: How much could you get the head studs for?ARP head studs - Let me know I can get you the best deal and ship em to you....the GSR's are on backorder till 4/1/12 but thats like one or 2 days from now
flywheel - Same with this, just let me know what kind your looking at
head gasket, gaskets, rear main seal - OEM ALL THE WAY
throttle body - professional products 68mm - I can get you the best deal for this..lmk
clutch - same with all this.....just let me know which ones your looking at
Thanks! They were a freaking steal too.Good to see the progress, diggin the gears haha.
Studs: How much could you get the head studs for? - ill message you prices
Flywheel: I was looking at something like 14-12 lbs, but I'd be fine with OEM too. I'm still looking - OEM Flyhwheels is like almost 20 lbs....11 lbs would be perfect for you.
Head gasket/gaskets/seals: Definitely. Although I was looking into a thinner head gasket for a little bit higher compression. But I need to look into that further. Because if I want to boost later I'm not sure if I really want to run that. Although it's not like it'd be hard to change. - oem is .030 which is decently thin already..id stick with that...its what most people with boost run and even all motor
Throttle body: 68mm is a little big IMO. Although I'm running the ITR cams/valvetrain... I was shooting for like 65mm. - I was gonna say 65mm but they have discontinued them with stock stuff you will be fine with a 68mm - plus they are cheapppppp, do you have an intake manifold?
Clutch: I was looking into Competition Stage 1. Toying with the idea for Stage 2. - Be ahead of the game and get a stage 2 just incase you ever want more power
ill message you prices tho
Thanks! They were a freaking steal too.
