are the brake calipers different for a hx to a dx? my bracket seems to be bigger or mounted different then the hx it came off of. i got a set of hx rims off my buddys 97 but the fronts dont rotate without grinding on the caliper bracket.:???:

Sounds like you have bigger aftermarket calipers on the front of your dx. If they were stock dx calipers there would be no clearance issues.

Sounds logical. What he said. Ex(right?) and si calipers are the ones off the 96-00 bodies that would rub. Small spacers and you should be good. Call your local reputable tire shop and ask if they have any spacers in stock for your bolt pattern.

Or you can grind down the caliper a little bit, did this on one of my da's awhile back, works fine and doesn't harm anything

That's another route he could go. Honestly, I'd grind it down. I have a grinder which would cost nothing or buy spacers which takes money. I like cheap to free easy fixes.

It doesn't have any adverse effects on braking or anything. So its really the best of both worlds, grind off weight, throw on lighter wheels, and if you're truly daring, paint them while your there. All I see is win at this point.
