looking for 2 wires - speed signal and injector lead

I've just built an MPGuino for my car and am needing to tap into the VSS speed signal and the Injector lead for it to operate. I thought this was the best place to ask since you are all so experienced with your own Civics. It's a 93 if that even makes a difference amongst 5th Gen. models.

Here is a description for both leads, but would like further details so as to remove all confusion:

Injector lead:

(generic instructions that should work with most vehicles)
unplug the injector lead(s) from the injector(s)
turn on the ignition but not the starter
select the/an injector plug (with the wires on it).
look for 12 volts on one of the plug leads.
use the lead that does NOT have 12 volts on it as the tap for the injector.

Speed signal(vss):
While tracking fuel consumption is most useful, and cars generally have speed and distance instrumentation already (speedometer/odometer), it is most convenient to identify a signal to use for tracking vehicle distance/speed. Unfortunately there isn't a generic way to do this. You have to locate a schematic for your vehicle and do some guessing and testing, or follow someone elses instructions who has already been there on your particular model. We are looking for a 0-12 volt signal here, and some cars might not even have a speed sensor stock or it may need some conditioning/amplifying before being used with the mpguino.

Each injector plug has two wires, a Yel/Blk wire (12V) and a ground wire having one of four different colors. As the Yel/Blk wire has 12V (battery voltage), you don't want to use it. Instead use the other wire in each injector plug.

The signal from the VSS comes from the Yel/Wht wire in the VSS plug. This signal wire at the VSS plug runs to the gauge cluster, cruise control, and ECU, but changes colors at those locations, where it is a Yel/Blu wire.
