Care to explain why the '02 Si and 4th gen Civic sedan was horrible?
I didn't say the EP3 was horrible, I actually do like it quite a bit. It's just a disappointing car because it was the first Si with a K20 and it made the same power as a B16. The Type R version was a great car, the Si was just too far away from it.

The 4th gen Civic sedan in my opinion is the just the least interesting Civic that's been produced. There were never any interesting models and to me it's the ugliest one that's been built. I've seen a couple builds that I thought turned out nicely but overall, it's not a car that I generally like.

^^I'm only a fan of the CRX, other than that I hate everything about 4th gens. Especially when Nissan and Toyota were making much better cars like the supra, corolla ae86, silvia, etc. Honda only had the NSX.

I have to disagree with the 2002 Si. They're complaining that it didn't have Honda's "flagship" engine? I'd take a K20A3 over a B16 any day. It makes peak power at a lower RPM, and has more torque. You can also swap the head and make 200hp, and even more torque. The only B16 that comes close is the B16B, which still only makes 184hp, and still has crap for torque.

Hence why I asked what design they used.

Also with the k series, they didn't build their transmissions to handle a lot of power either. So I've heard.

volvo uses them all the time :what:
Volvo makers are aliens.

2002 civic si, is disappointing (in my opinion) cause they definitely could have done better. but they where just trying to improve "rigidness" i guess. the dashmounted shifter was a little uncomfortable imo. i like to rest my hand on the shifter. Although it brought in the k series, its just a base model of the rsx. they should have used the type-s version. plus the added weight made it seem slower.

i didnt read all the posts... and honda/ acura had a few cars with the 5 cylinder...

5 cylinders actually run really smooth because they are always on a power stroke in a given cycle. i love odd motors ;)

Look where they are now, none of those 3 make anything fun, cool, spirited or interesting.

Ehh, they're trying at least.

:what:
I don't know though, they're good enough to turn into drift cars and run Formula D.

Touche.

He doesn't even run on Formula D anymore. Or did he come back this year?

Who?

Ken Gushi still runs with Scion.
Oh I was talking about Tanner Foust. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the drift circuit.

Especially this year when Walker spends 12gs on a LS7 swap and doesn't even qualify for FD.

Some of those cars I could agree with. Some supercar's still have automatic transmissions with paddle shifters. You could argue paddle shifters are just as gay as automatics, which IMO are. 4-wheel steering is a great invention and I believe Honda was one of the first, if not first, car manufacturers to offer a car with 4-wheel steering. It's used a great deal in construction vehicles and even public transportation vehicles as well. They just didn't execute it very well. The CL 2.2, Acura SLX, and Honda Passport I agree withl. And I think the CR-Z is a dope ass car. Even if the Prius gets better ratings as a hybrid, it's still a dope car. First hybrid with a 6-speed? Why not? Plus hill assist is dope. My friend has it in his 2011 WRX and it's a really cool feature.

And one thing I'm glad Honda did away with is all the sub-models. Like the 5th gen was offered in CX, DX, LX, HX, EX, VX, I think even GX? Really? Is that necessary?

I think it's more the fact that people were disappointed it didn't come with a 200hp platform like the 2006+. Especially considering the fact that the RSX base model came with the same motor and the RSX-S had the 200HP K20A2. Huge disappointment from a lot of people.

Plus the K is a huge step above the B. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Exactly what i was gonna say, it's fine that they gave it a K, but you can't make a civic, call it an Si then give it a shittier version of your real fast motor. That would have been like them putting b18b's in the 99-00 Si's, sure b18b's are ok and they make more torque than b16's, but it's just lazy

Nearly identical to what they did for years with the b series.
Putting the weak b16 in the EM1's or Del Sol Vtec models when they had better GSR motor at their disposal.

6th gen had just as many, Dx, Lx, Cx, Hx, Ex, Si and Gx, which was introduced during this generation.

They just didn't execute it very well. The CL 2.2, Acura SLX, and Honda Passport I agree with.
I can agree with those also, but have never seen a SLX in person.
