me and my friend just installed my 8000k 35w ddm tuning HID bulbs and ran into an issue.
The bulbs don't extend far enough into the headlight housing for it to shine as bright or as much as it should.
I'll try describing the situation the best I can.
The stock bulbs are detachable while the ddm tuning bulbs come with wires (prongs). So it's not as simple as plugging the bulb into the rubber holding piece and then connecting the ballast to the back end then snugging the whole rubber casing that holds the bulb into the housing of the headlight.
The first issue I ran into was how are the hid bulbs going to stay in place because like i said before the stock bulbs just fit snug into the hole of the rubber piece. The bottom of the ddm tuning bulbs didn't fill up enough area to fit securely in the hole of the rubber piece. So the only way we were to able to get a tight secure fit was to cut 3 slits into the rubber piece and hook in the 3 little tabs that the bottom plastic piece has that are normally supposed to fit perfect into the grooves in the headlight housing.
After doing our technique on getting the lights to sit stiff and secure, we put the whole bulb into the housing of the headlight..........to soon realize that because we added slits to the rubber holding piece and tucked in the plastic tabs into it that it ended up taking away about a quater of an inch worth of reach from the bulb going into the housing of the headlight. Hence not illuminating to its fullest potential.
My other thought was super gluing the plastic base of the HIDS to the interior portion of the headlight housing so it would be secured in place and reached out far enough into the headlight housing.
hopefully that made sense. for those of you familiar with headlights it should.
Thanks club civic!
