All I am reading here is opinion, which you are entitled to of course, but doesn't really say much. Personally I think Ford's quality was terrible in the early 2000's. Dashboards were cheap and interiors were boring.
The new Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne is literally re-structuring how the company does business and is implementing completely new strategies in creating a great quality product. Improving quality and reliability are his main objectives, in order to regain a solid customer base that will keep them returning in the future.
Not every chrysler vehicle is running an italian platform. The only vehicles running off the alfa romeo guilietta platform so far are the dodge dart and the jeep patriot. The rest of the lineup has been completely refreshed and re-designed for their 2012 models. 200, 300, charger, challenger, grand cherokee, liberty, grand caravan, durango, etc. is getting a completely refreshed exterior and completely re-designed powertrain. They all have the new 3.6L pentastar which is an award winning engine. 300 and charger have the new 8-speed.
No to mention their sales have increased higher and faster in the past year, than any other auto manufacturer. Riddle me that.
Well, yes, like I said those vehicles are brand new, they're great on paper, but they need some good hard miles on them before I'll drop everything and say Chrysler has finally fixed things.
Yes, ford was s**t in the 2000's and also like I said, they have done what chrysler is doing now, a few years ago. An now have quality products.
None of that is opinion, it's fact.
And as for your "riddle me that" it's not hard to come out as the sales gained leader, when you barely sold anything in the past lmao.
If you sold 10 vehicles last year, and sell 1000 vehicles this year, your sales gained % will be off the charts, and it will make you seem amazing. But I reality you've still only sold 1000 vehicles.
If another company has sold 1000 vehicles last year, and 1500 vehicles this year, their sales gained % won't really be that high, but they're still selling way more then the other guys.
It's how the auto industry works, that's why RAM was segregated into its own brand apart from Dodge, they figured it would help its image to Be its own brand and show higher sales % increases that everyone elses trucks. When really they're still selling only slightly more than in the past.
I is a project on all this in college, tons of research and crap. It's a marketing scheme to fool people into thinking they are superior since they're sales have increased.
Just an example, in march, Ford F150 sales have increased 13% over last year in march. They sold about 5000 more this year.
Ram trucks sales have increased 28% over last year. They also only sold 5000 more this year.
Chrysler isn't that great. And won't be for at least another year or two till they can prove the new vehicles have actually changed things in the quality department.
It doesn't matter how much more % their selling compared to the others, unless the actual amount of units is similar. I could care less if they sell 1000% more, If the number of units is still far below the rest, it doesn't matter.
