This'll keep your speedo as accurate as possible. It's somewhat low profile. 205/40 if you want lower profile. Speedo would only read 4.3% too fast.

205/45/16 is what I have & my speedo is off by almost 2 mph fast but this is the size you want.

I'd say 205/40/16. That's what I'm running.

what do you guys think about nitrogen filled tires? i'm planning on doing half nitrogen/air when i pick up new tires. i hear it offers a totally different feel to the drive. a better drive.

Unless you're doing Formula One driving, nitrogen isn't going to do squat.

Save your money and just get normal air like everyone else.

I've read the exact opposite. You shouldn't notice a difference at all, unless your tire pressure was seriously out of wack prior to switching over. Just maintain a proper pressure on regular free air and you'll be fine.

False, nitrogen does the exact same effect, the reason they put nitrogen in the new vehicles is because nitrogen doesnt expand and contract like regular "free" air. In the winter your tires appear low because the air has contracted, you add air and then when its nice out the air expands again and you suddenly have over inflated tires, causing improper wear on the tires. Nitrogen is used in said race cars because there tires start at atmosphere temp and will reach a significantly higher temp causing them to naturally inflate/expand more, throwing off all sorts of things on the car. Thats why race cars use nitrogen filled tires.

OP use a proper 205/45/16 to not throw off your speedo and you dont need nitrogen filled tires. It is expensive to inflate and if you ever do have a flat, you can just fill with regular air because the valve stems are also different.

I worked at big o tires for 6 months. If anything i said is incorrect anyone please feel free to correct me

Essentially, what crash said still holds some truth. For a daily driver, nitrogen is a huge waste of money and it is not worth the benefits that most people do not seek to have.

You are right. I'm just saying for his purposes it'd be pointless to do.

^^^^which is also correct, OP's use doesnt require them to be nitrogen filled.

In that size and an all season high performance, hands down Continental DWS. We sell a TON of DWS for customer's Audis and would for Porsche if they were N rated. I would run them all day long on my car if they made them in 15 inch sizes.

Keep in mind that the tires that 2000EX-Si is recommending are high performance summer tires and will do VERY POORLY in the colder months. If that is what you are looking for so be it, but they won't hold up to snow, ice, or even heavy rain conditions. Also, MANY of the high performance summer tires have a fairly poor tread rating. Meaning they don't last very long. They are meant to be swapped out in the colder months and sacrifice better grip for less tire life.

Do you want all-season or summer? I'd recommend getting a set of steelies and throwing snow tires on them and then getting summer tires for whatever wheels you have now. Best of both worlds. And if you're riding on steelies now, I recommend finding a set of 15" or 16" wheels to run performance summer tires on.

If you want summer, it depends on your budget. Yokohama S. Drives are good tires for a good price (I got mine recently for $390 shipped in 205/45/16). They handle well both in dry and wet. I'm on my 2nd set. Dunlop Star Specs are also great tires. I've heard loads of good about them. I've heard good about Khumo XS as well. Both are more expensive than S. Drives. If you wanna be baller, Toyo T1R and Bridgestone RE-11 are awesome street tires as well but are lots of monies. I've heard various input here and there about other tires like some of the Yokohama Advans and Hankook RS-3's.

I love my Falken Ziex's 205/45's & they handle good for me, I have primewells on my 17's 205/40's & I can stop on a dime with those, lots of grip but a cheaper tire, good for the money.
