Installing aftermarket intake -- Do I need a tune? What to do with the IAT sensor?

First off, please use paragraphs, capitalization and punctuation.
If I understood correctly, you want to know if you could remove the piping altogether and just put the filter onto the intake manifold/throttle body?
You can, my brother did that on his D17. It would give you a little more low end power, I mean just enough to feel it, not that much, but you would lose power on higher rpm. Not bad if all you do is drive in downtown/city a lot lol.
But you still need the plug because it measures temperature I believe, correct me if I'm wrong.
no i dont want to go right into the manifold/throtle body theres a stock tube that runs into the stucks intake that the plug plugs into allready i just want to put the new cone intake on the end of stock tube and remove the dirty stock old stock one do you tunderstand what time saying?

Here's the issue, just in case no one has ever explained it you. The way you write is extremely difficult to decipher, so some people will just give up and move on. So when you say...

doest solve my ?
...I say that clear, concise and easy to understand writing will always get you better answers more quickly.

I agree. Lack of at least SOME punctuation, grammar, and spelling makes it difficult to understand what you're trying to say sometimes. No one is trying to be a jerk to you. It just helps us better understand what you're trying to say.

Putting in a hi-flow filter in your stock airbox has pretty much the same effect as getting an aftermarket intake. For the most part, an intake is an intake. Once you start getting into the better DOHC engines and have supporting mods, aftermarket is definitely the way to go. But on a stock daily driven D-Series, your stock box with a hi-flow filter will do just fine. Remove the resonator if you want a cool sound at WOT.

I'm sorry what is heat soak? I haven't done that myself like I said my brother did it on his car a while back.
To answer your question OP (original poster), yes you can just put the cone onto your stock piping but I believe you will need a plastic pipe to go between the cone and stock pipe.
As someone mentioned, you could also just get a high flow (K&N, AEM) filter for the stock airbox. I had a cone but it got dirty a lot quicker than my stock filter I think maybe because it's open on all sides.
I removed my resonator and cut out the plastic underneath my filter because there is only a small hole for air to enter. Don't think it makes much of a difference but just giving you ideas.
