Hey guys, just signed up to this forum. Picking up an EG this weekend :banana: Pretty excited about it! It will be my second car, my first car is a 09 civic hybrid lol. I still have the hybrid in the garage, but always wanted to pick up a car that I can fix up. Will probably be driving this around a lot more than my hybrid for the first few months lol since my hybrid is boring as ish to drive. Then hopefully in a few years I'll be able to sell my hybrid and get another car while still keeping this one as a winter beater =) Been looking around for the past week or so for a forum that'll be able to help me on fixing up my EG.. hopefully this one can be more helpful than others.

Picture of what I'm rolling in now..

Picture of the EG soon! =)

Haha thanks everyone =) I was thinking about swapping in a k20z3 earlier, saw one on sale locally for 3.5k with tranny and everything that's needed. But then I'm not sure how I feel about ditching the hybrid motor since I've only had it for a year and a half with 44k km on it :/ For show I'd pick my hybrid over an EG, but for fun I'm hoping the EG will be more fun to drive =)
I have a build thread over on 8thcivic if anyone wants to check it out, beware though there are a lot of huge pictures;

Hopefully I'll be able to start a build thread on the EG on clubcivic as well =) Planning to put a CAI on it and some light suspension mods to make it more fun around corners for now.. and then the rest will depend on how much the EG grows on me haha

Milano red? Let's see some more pics, what are the problems with it?

^_^ Yup milano red! I love the color, though the paint is pretty much dead. Don't have any pictures of that haha.. but the clearcoat is pretty much gone from 80% of the car and the roof and hood are faded a bit. The power lock on the driver side door is busted, and there's about an inch of rust on the passenger side fender which is pretty bad and half an inch of rust on the driver side fender. Mechanically it's awesome though, pulls strong!

Not sure how far I'll go with this build since I was just thinking about using it as a beater to learn manual on, but it's growing on me haha.. I have a cheapo shift knob coming in and a black suede shift boot with red stitching coming as well. Just changed out the steering wheel today

Going to either paint the grey dash trim in a glossy black or wrap it in carbon fiber, not too sure yet. Also planning to cover the door fabric with just black alcantara or something. Mainly going to just fix up the interior to make it feel better while driving, not too sure about the interior since the paint's so bad. Planning on paint matching the exterior door moulding and sideskirts. I've been looking at the EG6 interior and dammmnn.. it's so nice haha

So what's the EG have in it? Just a D series? I hope you clean it up tho man! I love EG builds

The hybrid's pretty good, has a lot more torque than the EG and also more torque than the K series as well in the low RPMs. Makes driving around the city pretty decent despite the low power and heavy weight. The electric motor is also pretty good and smooth, I love the way that the IMA has been integrated with the car and the only problem I have with it would be that the hybrid battery doesn't last quite as long as I want it to so during long uphill drives the battery wouldn't last and it would only take about half a minute or so before I lose the ~30HP boost from the IMA, leaving me alone with just the power from the slow 1.3 lol. I much prefer the IMA over the kind of design they have for cars like the Prius though. The MPG is pretty awesome, flooring it everywhere and I can still manage to get mid 40s MPG mixed city/hwy. Pure highway MPG is incredible, but then again it is my first car and I'm just comparing it with my friend's cars which aren't very gas efficient lol. I wish they could put at least the R series 1.8 engine they have in the base model civics along with the IMA for some more power, the ~85hp 1.3 motor is pretty crappy lol

The EG is bone stock everything haha, with a D16Z6. I'll definitely be cleaning it up =) though probably won't be putting much engine mods in other than basic I/H/E and possibly some pulleys. If I really get into the car then I'll be sanding it down and giving it a new paint job along with a lip kit and a decent stance. I'll post a build thread if I do get into it, but for now it'll probably stay stock except for some interior mods xD
