Man I picked up a 2002 Civic DX 5-speed for $900! it's mint and has alot of new parts! You just gotta look.... For the price of another car, you can get a older civic and do some minor mods or such!

family car used under 5k? i recommend saving and getting something new and safer than a car pushing 15 years.

I was suggesting a Civic Wagon, they will always be within your price range, but expect higher mileage unless you find one for a steal. My dad had a 1990 in cream colored with the 6 speed RT4WD, and it fit myself, mom, dog, and sis all within the seats, got great mileage, worked all year round, and overall not a bad looking car.

No fat chicks, car will scrape.

I'd look into a small sub. More of a family car and safer for the three kids. Not to mention comfort. Small cars lose comfort when the car seat whether it being rear or front facing. With my front facing mounted in my 8th Gen. I can fit one normal sized adult in the back or two tiny Asian kids.

always liked subaru but gas mileage isnt the best and they are either high mileage or over priced like a unmodified honda lol but ill have to look into one i see that alot of older ones a head issues due to open decks etc...

dodge durango!!
i had one was fun but got 12.6mpg city and highway and that my friend is a boner killer

Is the safety rating a factor for your search? If you have priorities, make a list. This will help limit the possibilities.

For example, from what you've mentioned so far, here are your criteria:

1) $5000 or less
2) Accommodates three car seats
3) Good gas mileage
4) Good safety rating

Are there others?
