I'm pretty sure I just want a all motor DD. I have always wanted the GSR swap and after reading crash! Build thread I'm thinking of doing the Itr internals but I'm not sure what exactly I need / want I'm leaning to just head work for time and money but I'm looking for knowledge from experience.

Do a B20VTEC instead IMO.

There are good threads over on Honda-Tech that already cover how to build a reliable LS/VTEC swap.

Can I ask why you recommend that to just doing a GSR swap? Money? Power?

Power wise I'd say. What is coming with the swap that you say is complete? I built my ls-vtec for much cheaper than $2000 but I was also patient to wait for good prices.

If you want 200whp youre going to need a tune. Simply slapping on random parts wont get you what you want.

200 whp or just 200hp? If u want that to the wheels you'll want at least jdm ITR pistons in it, Skunk2 Pro1/Tuner 2 Cams or equivalent, valvesprings and retainers to compliment the cams, full 2.5 inch exhaust, a good header with 2.5 in outlet, a ITR style intake manifold, and a cai could help AND TUNE!!!. You should be able to hit 200whp with that if not a little more.

Also what all do u get with the swap, I got my swap for $1700 and that came with EVERYTHING necessary too, not just longblock and trans. You'll need mounts, and an AC bracket if u wanna keep that, the shift linkage, a dual core radiator, axles, wiring harness, ecu and theres probably more I'm missing

motor, trans, harness, Ecu , axles, alt, p/s pump, of course I know I would need mounts and I planned on doing a clutch and flywheel with a new hradgasket and timing belt water pump and of course doing the cam and crank and read main seals before it goes in. Here is the situation I bought the car for $300 and its in fair condition but it had 267,000 miles and take this as me planning in advance I don't want ti be the person to buy a engine and just drop it in with out opening her up and at least replacing a few thing for my peace of mind. Honestly I just thought that since. GSR swap is was all meant for each other unlike putting a different head on a block I thought it would be more reliable

What kind of power would I make with a ls/V set up? Would should they be priced around?

with the same setup as a GSR you'd have a bit more torque and hp at lower RPM due to the add displacement. But if you've never built an engine it wouldn't be as easy as a rebuild or just adding parts to the motor. Not to mention it's slightly less reliable. The GSR block has a girdle over the mains which I believe the ls block doesnt and the vtec blocks have oil squirters in them and shorter stroke (the reason the have less displacement) to make revving high easier

So if I wanted a reliable set up I should just stick with a GSR with Itr internals and a good tune? Also is $2000 for the swap a good price most of the time he said they have 80,000 to a 100,000 miles on them

You're getting the swap from a wholesaler? Is it a JDM GSR block? It's not a bad price considering all the longblocks and trannys I see here going for $2k , and if it's from a reputable dealer that will warranty it then yeah thats not a bad price
